Works well and looks good, just handle with care
I was hesitant to order this based on the negative reviews on Amazon and other sites, but have not experienced the issues others have shared. Is it slightly more finicky than other cheap kettles? Sure - for example, you can't fill through the spout, but rather have to take the lid off. Of course the lid fits tightly so the water can boil, so it requires a bit of strength to take it on and off. The whistle (which is very pleasant) uses a ball bearing in the spout, which sometimes requires a very slight shake to dislodge before pouring the water out. Like any other product with matte black finish, water stains and cooking splatter are more apparent than on a product with a shiny finish, but the kettle is easily wiped clean with a damp towel (or washed and air dried). If you trash this kettle and handle it without care, the finish might chip or the lid might break, but just... don't do that? I was choosing between this and the 3x more expensive Caraway kettle (which has its own share of bad reviews); very glad I went with this option.

Junk, with poor customer service.
Pretty! Nice whistle! Junk. :( First the marble gets stuck in the spout so it won’t pour. Then the o-ring on the lid breaks so it doesn’t seal, so doesn’t whistle. Good luck getting that 10 cent part from seller. Jump through hoops trying, then throw kettle in trash.

So far so good.
It looks good, washes up easily and it boils water.I read others' concerns before buying, and: the whistle does sound like an air raid alarm - you will never be so distracted that you forget to remove it from the burner! It gets hot and I need a towel or glove to pour, but that has been the case with every kettle I've ever had. Finally, the top seals tight, which is necessary, and it requires some strength to open it. I'm 70 and I can open it, but I imagine if someone has arthritic hands or wrists it could be challenging.I like it.

Large capacity, sleek design, easy to clean.
I love Fellow brand and have their electric pourover kettle which is amazing for my coffee so I knew I could find a quality product when I started looking for a stovetop kettle for tea! My favorite thing about this kettle is how much water it can hold. I have lots of tea drinkers in my house and I was sick of needing to boil multiple kettles. The matte finish looks great even after months of use and cleaning. It is easy to pour and doesn't make a mess! The whistle feature is unique in that it sounds like a tornado siren and startles my family regularly, which I find amusing. Overall, an excellent purchase!

Beautiful, but poorly made
Simple clean lines, lightweight, looks fabulous. But what the heck happened with the design of the whistle and the lid? The steel ball rolling around in the spout is especially loud when filling it. My tough as nails cat bolted from the kitchen when he heard it. The whistle sort of, sometimes, works. Takes forever to actually start whistling even after it's been boiling for a while. The whole point of a whistling tea kettle is for it to work every time you need it to. The lid leaks steam when it boils, soaking the handle, and yes, you could burn your hand if not careful. What a missed opportunity. IMHO, aesthetically, there is no more attractive tea kettle on the market. Now, if the manufacturer could just improve the materials and production, it would be a winner. As much as I loved looking at this elegant vessel, I had to return it.

Beautiful Kettle, Excellent Customer Service, Doesn't Whistle Correctly
I purchased the Fellow kettle a little over a month ago. It has a lovely texture and boils water well. My two problems with it were that it emitted a smell that lingered for a bit, and sometimes the whistle worked, but other times it didn't. Eventually I reached out to the company; the representative was very helpful and replaced the kettle after some troubleshooting, as I was just outside my thirty-day Amazon window. The replacement does not whistle at all. But at this point it does not seem worth pursuing, as the old one is okay. Now I just listen for it to make a dragon sort of noise and I know the water has boiled. The major problem with the FAQ about no whistling is that it says blockage is a common cause, but there's not an easy way to be sure you've unblocked the kettle. Since the ball inside the spout is unreachable you'll never know if you fixed it or not. The whistle design is a cool concept but does not work in practical everyday use. Sigh
