The best accounting instruction manual ever!
I think one of the biggest problems with textbooks on accounting is that they don't give you enough opportunity to think things through yourself and really make it stick. This book asks the reader questions throughout the text and has an answer key at the end of the sections to check if you got it. I have found this method far more effective to understand accounting concepts than any other.

instrumental in passing the HBX financial accounting class
i took the harvard business school online class of this same name and written by the same instructor. before i got this book i had a really hard time getting through the modules and being able to answer questions. i would say this book was what ultimately got me through this course.

Very basic, doesn’t provide anything you can’t find online for free
Awful book. Much too simplistic for such complicated concepts.

Great self-study guide
Great book and very easy to understand. The author does a great job breaking down complex topics and gives numerous examples for practice. I was looking to get some basic accounting knowledge before business school and would recommend it to other people looking to get up to speed on the subject.

The An Easy Introduction to Financial Accounting, a Great Book
The An Easy Introduction to Financial Accounting: A Self-Study Guide is a great book. It covers all essentials of Financial Accounting and explains step by step that is easy to understand. Its well-written contents supported by the best examples and well-chosen exercise questions makes it more valuable. This book covers all core elements of the Financial Accounting course at Harvard Business School. I would recommend this book to the students taking Financial Accounting courses at Harvard University and probably at other Universities.
