Farmer Maggot's House
A nice little addition to the Hobbiton world. This is not really a "hobbit hole," but rather is Farmer Maggot's (the guy the young Frodo and friends swiped mushrooms from) free-standing farm house. It has nice details and is well-made, like the other Hobbiton structures put out by WETA. This is my fourth hobbit structure, so I guess I'm a little enthralled with all things "hobbit."

I think the image says it all but..For the price I didn't expect mediocre paint jobs.For the price, I expected decent quality control.For this piece, the pumpkin face on the door appears to be freestyled. Not a stencil, not an inset on the door that the painter just colors in, but hand painted freestyle. Given that, I wouldn't expect any two to ever look the same, or to ever get one that looks like the promo/packaging image. I also am frankly shocked that this passed QC, but maybe there was no QC at all.I had zero faith that I would get a replacement that was any better, so I returned for a refund. For a moment I considered fixing it myself, because I know my way around a paintbrush, but then I remembered what I paid for this. At this price, this is just laughable.

"Tiny" hobbit hole
i liked the overall design and detail work but was surprised how very tiny this piece was for the price. I wanted to use it in my Hobbit/Lord of the Rings Fairy Garden but it was by far the smallest piece in there. I used it and it was cute but hard to see among the plants and moss.
