Excellent Controller
Excellent performance. Shows charging in cloudy conditions where I didn’t expect any charging. Very informative display.

Works well, except for couple of issues..
I'm using this charge controller with 2x 350W panels in series and 24V lithium bank and has been working very well so far (about 200kW generated so far over past couple months). The modbus serial interface is very useful for remote access.A couple of issues that I've encountered:- The serial port commands will occasionally timeout if the output load is not enabled, or there is no solar power. Multiple tries are needed to eventually work. This doesn't happen on another model that I have (4210N)- The RTC clock drifts about 5-10 seconds per day. It's not an issue for my setup because I use NTP with remote client and can update the clock, but this could be an issue for applications that depend on the timer mode.

GREAT CHARGE CONTROLLER
This a great charge controller, I bought this one even it was over my current needs. This will allow me to upgrade my system without the need for a new controller. If you are configuring a small system but looking forward to expanding it later you should consider this one.

OKI DOKI
After a month no complaints. Just be aware the terminal screws for cables are chincey and take great care anytime your using them and the set up instructions for a minimally intuitive pensioner like me from Chinese to English translation are minimally helpful and could be improved.

Voltage spikes
Great charge controller for lead acid batteries but no so much for Lifepo4. Have been using this charge controller for a year now at my off grid camp with 150 ah AGM batterys at 12v Using 600 watts of solar with six 100 watt in series with a total VOC OF 132V and it was working as it should but when I upgraded to lithium it has been nothing but problems. Changed the settings on the controller to lifepo4 and used the battery mfg. recommend settings 14.4v but when the battery gets close to 100% SOC the SCC has a overvolt condition and spikes over 20v causing the SCC and battery bms to trip. Changed the boost and max voltage setting several times finding that 13.8v solves the problem. But at 13.8v the battery will not pull full amps from the controller using the solar to its full potential and the battery will not reach 100% SOC. Took the battery and connected to my system at home that uses a victron SCC to test to make sure it was not the battery and it worked as it should no voltage spikes. Changed the solar at camp to 3s2p to drop the VOC to 66v and changed the settings back to mfg. and it no longer overvolted but i need a high VOC because of the distance between my SCC and panels to keep voltage drop down I don't think the epever samples and is quick enough to control the voltage at a VOC more then 70% of the controllers max voltage. Will be upgrading the SCC to a victron.

Works GREAT!!!
This charge controller came well packaged. I am using it for Lithium batteries. Setup was easy as parameters settings for Lithium batteries is in the configuration settings. Use the rs485 cable to pc and Epever software to setup system.

Does not start charging
This 40 amp MPPT Solar Charge Controller works nothing like the 30 amp EVERPERR I used for 5 years.Does not start charging in the morning, I have to turn off the breakers to my solar panels and turn back on.Does not charge on partly cloudy days.Customer support just quotes the manual and does not give an answer as to why.The 30 amp worked in the rain/cloudy days.
