I bought 2 20'x 20'....installed one yesterday, installing the 2nd today....so nice having this up...I put up a solar light under this shade cloth also, LOVE IT!

After suffering 2+ months of no rain and 100+ degrees in north Texas this year, our garden gave out. We explored various options and decided to try a shade cloth. There are different types and colors of shade cloth but we went with black so it would blend in better with our natural environment.I read a few other reviews stating the sizing was off and that was my experience as well. I ordered a 20’x24’ and received a 22’8” x 22’8”. I will say much higher quality (thicker plastic, better seams, etc.) than some cheaper ones I’ve seen.I was making a custom enclosure and really wanted the shorter 20’ so I didn’t have as much sag but created a higher tent-like support in the center, which helped. I used 3/4” metal emt conduit for framing since it is much more rigid than PVC and holds paint better. I was a bit worried about leaves sticking in the cloth as they fall but so far I’m able to use a blower to get them off the top as they collect there.Time will tell how big of a difference it will make but overall we’re happy with the product as of now.

We’ve used it on top of our shade structure that has railings. Completely cools our bedroom. Love that it hasn’t been affected by the CA storms that we had this year!

I'd likely have given this a 5 star had it not been for the HUGE difference in the advertised size (12'x12') and the actual size. I'm very happy that I waited to build my shade frame until after I measured all three shade tarps. I measured the first side at 12'3" I was very pleased (the opposite side measured the same), then measured the 2 sides 90 degrees (perpendicular) to those sides and they both came to 11'3"! A FULL FOOT (12 INCHES) short. I was fully expecting the finished size to be off by an inch or two, but NOT by 12 inches--that is unacceptable. The good thing is that all three shade tarps I bought were identical, but I'm concerned with whether or not future replacements will be the same or not(?). I'm now trying to modify my shade frame (which will be a permanent structure) plans to be adaptable to future size inconsistencies. So, nice material (30% shade to reduce extreme heat) and using this to cover several raised veggie beds during the heat of the summer (100+ degrees) to protect my plants from the stress of the extreme heat and sun scald.

Middle is a bit wider than the edges, which required some adjustments in hanging it (I am using it for shade and a cat boundary on a third floor balcony), but it is holding up fantastically and I have recommended the brand to my neighbors looking to do something similar… would definitely buy again!

We purchased the 40% canopy to cover half of our pergola. It measured a few inches longer and wider than the 12" x 16" ordered. The 40% offers medium shade (see photo). The right side has no cover over the pergola roof and the left side of the pergola is covered with the 40% canopy. We actually purchased it to keep debris off the patio furniture rather than for shade. It keeps debris off fairly well, so we're pretty happy with it. We used ball bungees to hold it down, but we needed to buy the ones with the clamp as there aren't enough grommets on the shade canopy for our needs.

I live in a very hot summer location. Most of my garden plants burn in the hot sun. The headline stated that this item was 30% shade value. I didn't grasp that only the small size that is offered is 30%. I ordered 2 larger size shade cloths and received them in good condition. Only after installing the first one. I realized that it was a 70% shade value. Now I have a shade garden. I wish the heading would have clearly stated it. Oh well!
