A Concise, Clear and Commanding Grasp of Hold'em
What strikes me after reading at least twelve other books on Texas Hold'em is the complexity of the game. No two individuals poker games are the same. Most books fall back on hypothetical situations to explain the correct approach and even veer away to other games like Blackjack or other Poker formats on occasion to make a point. Harvard and MIT types can bog you down in the minutiae of the game to press some obscure advantage. So what did I learn - apart from the complexity and confusion Texas Hold'em is a game that demands a grasp of the basics and relative facts and a given number of hands you need to commit to memory. Matt Matros clears the fog in The Game Plan in a clear-sighted way that allows the player focus on the practicalities of how to play the game. Commit whatever Matt Matros suggests by way of hands to memory and follow his advice closely. Over time experience will allow for a more expansive game but keep to the the straight and narrow of The Game Plan and you will get over the Bridge of Asses with relative ease. He is a superb writer who presents an encyclopedic knowledge of the game into a rivetting and exciting read where the facts stir the imagination and enthusiasm with the urge to get to a casino. No other book on poker does that in my estimation with such a meticulous approach irregardless of how much information they convey. Buy it and you will not be disappointed I assure you.

Basic Tweaks to Up Your Game
The brilliancy of this book is that it moves you closer to playing a more balanced game theory optimal strategy without explicitly going into game theory. I've also found that with a few tweaks it works as a decent cash game approach.

This is the PERFECT book for anyone looking to start Playing No Limit Hold 'em Tournaments.
I console A LOT of poker content, just about everything from Theory of Poker all the way through Modern Poker Theory and I can confidently say that nothing will help a beginning player feel comfortable making decisions like this book. I can't stress enough how many times I've tried to get my Girlfriend of a decade into poker. I tried to get her to read a number of other books and websites and the material was always presented in a way that did not work for how she learns or her beginner level of knowledge. It is near impossible for me as a person who has been playing for over a decade to try and remember what it was like when I didn't even know how to read the board. Fortunately for all of us, Matt Matros does not have the same problem. He lays everything out in a very easy to digest fashion that my Girlfriend has responded to incredibly well. You won't regret this purchase.

I'm All In with The Game Plan!
I still can't believe how much 'The Game Plan' has improved my play, and results, in the poker tournaments that I play. In his easy to read style, Matt makes it easy to learn and comprehend both the mechanics of the game and the theory behind why you are making the plays that you've learned. I've still got a lot to master but in less than three months I have advanced from being a purely recreational player, to a tournament contender. While I still have a lot of it to master, I am well on my way and will arrive much sooner than I would have ever done without this book. Thank you again Matt!

Another great book by Matt Matros.
The author presents 35 simple rules to use in live tournaments and simplify the process of decision making. The rules are not signed to cash in the events, they are signed to increase the chip stack, make deep runs and aim for the big prizes. Each section has a lot of hand examples and also there are 13 hands that Matros played in the Main Event of the WSOP. The book will help players that are playing their first live tournaments and want to take a chance in the Main Event of the WSOP in Las Vegas. One of the best poker books of 2019.

Straightforward guide to succeeding in poker tournaments
This book is fantastic! i have been playing tournament poker as a hobby for about 15 years, and read a LOT of poker books. The Game Plan breaks down what you need to know in order to play to win, avoid major mistakes, and even out the edge that more experienced players might have over you. The books breaks things down so you can play well and smartly without having to know every single aspect of the game. Highly recommended to anyone who is going to play a large tournament, like any of the World Series events.

Great book
This book has made me a lot of money. The post flop instruction is crazy good. I never get lost in a hand now. I always know what to do in every situation. When to continue, when to let hands go. This is the best book I’ve ever read on poker because it really spoke to me at the skill level I’m currently at. I loved all the practice hands as well and have gone over them countless times. Highly recommended.
