Spyderco Southard G-10 Black/Titanium Plain Edge Knife

Handle is a bit thick.This knife is awesome. My favorite carry. Great steel. Great detail. First one ordered was counterfeit amazon replaced. The authentic spyderco is worth the wait!!!

Amazon sold me a FAKE Spyderco Southard! I just received mine and several things didn't seem quite right. The blade is not black. The clip is not black. The titanium is not stonewashed, it's a smooth continuous finish. Screws are not completely countersunk. I went on Google and researched how to tell a fake and this is absolutely 100% a counterfeit Southard. I'm sending it back and ordering a replacement. If the new one is also a fake then I will buy one somewhere else.This was not bought from a third party seller. It was sold by Amazon directly. If you have bought one from Amazon, please check your knife and make sure it's authentic. The fakes can be actually pretty difficult to recognize and are quite well made. Also the manual and box are spot on. It's possible this was a return that someone switched out with a fake, but the box was taped shut at both ends with no sign of tampering. I saw someone also received a fake brown Southard from Amazon. I don't know how this is possible -- I'd assume Amazon is getting these knives directly from Spyderco if they are the seller.Anyway, be careful. Search Youtube. There was a very good comparison between a fake and a real Southard that went into great detail. It was about 24 minutes long. I suggest you watch it to make sure of what you have.If I get a real Southard with the replacement order, I'll modify the rating to reflect the genuine product. But what I received only deserves one star.___________________________I got the replacement yesterday from Amazon and it's a genuine Spyderco. I'm changing the rating to 4 stars. It's nice. Well built, but still not quite as nice as the Spyderco Manix 2 (which is so far the best built Spyderco I have seen). The action is pretty smooth, but using the two side by side, the Manix feels better to me. Also I think the Spyderco Rubicon flipper has a nicer movement than the Southard. One minor complaint about the Southard... the tip almost protrudes from the handle when closed. I can definitely see that being a problem if you reach for the knife in your pocket and catch a finger on the tip. Anyway, it's very nice but not quite 5 stars for me.

This is an awsome edged tool. Don't like the jimping but quality & build make up for it.

Excellent quality. Flips a little rougher than the dark earth/stone washed model but still nice.

......a true black beauty from a highly respected maker. This is a hit model in many ways.

Great knife razor sharp its legit checked inside and weight is correct probaly will be carrying this knife for a long time
