These window and door alarms work great. We didn’t originally buy them for home security, but because our child sleepwalks and we were worried he might walk out of the house during the night. Installing these gave us a lot of peace of mind. They’re very easy to install and come with sticky tape, so you can quickly place them on windows or doors. The alarm is loud and definitely enough to wake you up. You can set it to make a simple chirp or a full alarm depending on what you prefer. They can definitely be used for home safety or to alert you when someone opens a door or window, but for our situation they’ve been extremely helpful. Overall, a great product that gives us extra peace of mind.

Excellent uses and extremely easy settings. They’re literally ready to use! You pull a plastic tab out—which is there to prevent the batteries from conducting while in storage/during shipment. Stick the command strips on. And they’re ready. I didn’t even have to read the directions. They work great. Unfortunately, our personal use was to know when our mother got to and opened any of the doors (she has dementia)….but they sure give us peace of mind. Loud, immediate warning. We set them on “chime” during the day. But at night we set them to alarm—they go off loudly and until the door closes back or you turn it off. It would wake a sleeping bear right away lol! Can’t beat the price and quality!!!

To the ladies with babies that want a peace of mind at night when your man ain't home...... Don't walk....RUN to purchase these. I don't have the money for fancy security systems right now. I wanted something cheap in price but not cheap in quality. These are just that. Easy to install and extremely loud. The sensors are accurate, with no delay in response; when the magnets separate the alarm is instant. I set it to the alarm mode so its a constant loud obnoxious sound when it goes off. It will wake even the deepest of sleepers.

Just purchased this five-pack of window and door alarms to replace a few of the ones that I currently have on my windows at home. One thing that isn't mentioned on the website, is that you will need an eyeglass screwdriver in order to loosen the battery cover, to remove the packing around the batteries. This tiny screwdriver will also be needed to remove the battery cover when the time comes to replace the LR44 batteries. Negatives: 1) Only four of the five alarms worked out of the box. I'm assuming that the fifth needed fresh batteries. I still kept the set. 2) I've been using a different brand of window security alarms for years. They were easier to mount due to the sensor (the more narrow piece) having enough surface area to stick securely to the window. The GE sensors are very narrow, and don't seem to stick as well as I would have liked. That said, I've always used double sided velcro tape (instead of the sticky tape that the sensors come with). The double sided velcro tape seems to secure the alarm and sensor to the window more securely, and after a few weeks, seem to be working just fine with the GE sensors. And FYI: double faced velcro tape is available at Dollar Tree, and comes with more than enough in order to mount the five alarms and sensors. Positives: 1) The alarm on the GE units is very loud. 2) These seem to be of a better quality than others that are on the market. My car was broken into in March and the steering column was tampered with in an attempt to steal the car. The man who tried the theft looked up at our cameras as he walked up our driveway, right under a bedroom window, and took only seconds to break into the car. Our dogs never made a sound, and so we heard nothing. It was all caught on our neighbor's cameras and our neighbors also heard nothing as their two dogs never barked either These dogs bark at kids walking by, motorcycles, school buses going down the street, and birds if they chatter loudly, but they slept through the breaking in. I felt unsafe and unable to sleep. I ordered these alarms in the hopes it would keep someone from entering our home or, at the very least, alert us by making the dogs bark! We also have a young child who visits our home from time to time and a pool, this child can run like the wind so an adult is always nearby, so this alarm would give us a heads up before he even gets the door open. It is loud. I know everyone leaving a review says it is loud, so believe it. They are very loud. The alarms can be installed in a minute and work perfectly if you line them up correctly. The adhesive strips stick very well on metal and vinyl. Mine has been turned on and off several times a day and the adhesive has not given way at all. They are simple to turn on and off, so I set them every night before I go to sleep. I dread someone in the house forgetting to slide the button down to turn them off before they try to open the door or bedroom windows because I jump out of my skin. About those dogs; mine dogs go insane from the chime and the alarm sounds. One of them is an escape artist or should I say, he was. He used to push a screen door open and let himself out into a fenced in yard but now he dreads setting off the alarm and waits for the alarm to be turned off. If anyone sets it off by accident we have an immediate three ring circus of noise, bedlam. I think the noise factor between the alarm and the dogs will certainly be a deterrent for would be thieves, and probably scare off univited company as well.

This is a great item for security / safety / peace of mind. The alarm and even the chirp setting are both VERY loud. It is easy to install, works very well, and adheres to the wall with sticky tape that comes with the kit. 10/10

These alarms are amazing! They are very loud and the batteries are still going after 2 months so far. The set up was as simple as can be just peel and stick. Unlike other products where the peel and stick adhesive usually falls off however, whichever one they’re using is fantastic. They have not fallen off at all and they’re not budging anytime soon.

Easy installation. However, I just got them this weekend, put them up yesterday and one of them is having a low level buzz. I cant turn it off either. If the battery is bad already, thats very disappointing.

We had our kids older 2 kids 7 years before our youngest. This created a bit of a challenge in the sense that the older 2 could open all the baby proofing and then leave it open. We live in a bungalow and one of our biggest fears was the stairs to the basement. When the other 2 were younger we had locks on the stairs and we made sure everything was always secure. With the last baby a lot of the older 2 s toys were downstairs and a handful of times we found they didnt secure the door! This was before baby could crawl but we were trying to create the habit of closing the door before we had a problem. It wasn't happening so we had to take action. I found these and they were the PERFECT solution! We kept all the teadition baby proofing like the door handle covers and such but to ensure the kids would never leave the door unsecured we installed this simple alarm. We put this on the inside of the basement door and had it always on. So every time the door was opened an alarm would blare. It is so loud!! The kids absolutely hate it. They cant close the door fast enough lol. Have not left the door open since and it gave me so much peice of mind. I am alerted immediately when the door is open and know its closed when the alarm stops blaring. Great solution just to add a little extra layer of baby proofing when there are older kids around that can leave things open.

This is nice quality and loud enough for what I wanted but it will only fit certain types of door frames. The casing around my door frame sticks out about 3/4 inch from the door so I was unable to apply it as they won't connect flush with each other. I tried sticking it on the top of the door and put the small piece above it into the frame but with the adhesive it was too thick and caught on the door, so I have it taped up there without using the adhesive and that works. I need to buy some glue and just glue the little piece onto the top of the door frame so I can finally remove the tape. Making it work.
