Motion detection is unfortunate. I purchased these due to my experience with the 8 cell LED outdoor solar URPower lights. Unfortunately 2 of the 3 so far I've unboxed only come on if you wave your hand or foot within 6 inches of the light multiple times. Not what I was expecting. This may be a 'get what you pay for' situation, although to me this is device that function incorrectly, because it is advertised/pictures in situations there is no possible way this substandard motion detection would handle.

The light is excellent, as is motion detection. I use it on a door above the key lock - the problem there is that the adhesive is useless. I've had to tape it onto the door and will have to replace the tape every couple of weeks. I still like the light and it serves its purpose well.I do not use it on stairs so can't comment on that aspect.I am revising this review to 3 stars - Despite every effort to tape the light to the door, it refused to stay on. Ultimately, I tossed and found a different product.

These are great lights. The motion detection is sensitive the lights are bright and have a good length of time they stay on before automatically turning off. My only complaint is the stickers are not great. I used the stickers provided to hang on walls in my closet and under wood shelving both places the lights fell off. I added the Velcro picture hangers to the back and haven’t had a problem since.

I have the 1st gen in my basement storage area, so I thought the 2nd would be good for my unlit camper pantry. I like the use of a magnet / adhesive strip so they can have a home position / be removed to hunt for something. Unfortunately the adhesive isn’t holding up against the cabinets. Plan to upgrade to some 3M 2 sided tape. Otherwise they are great!

Like the price point and easy installation, but as always, you get what you pay for. One out of the three units went into constant-flicker mode after a week. Another refused to stick to the magnetic mount (top side of washing room) while the others two did fine. This product, as with others, is confirming my thoughts that anything too inexpensive is a 'deal too good to be true.'

I put 2 of these in my pantry on painted wood and they fell off within a few minutes. I used the tapes from Command Hooks to put them back up and now they are doing the job quite nicely. The 3rd one is in my garage on a slick cabinet, so it is sticking just fine. They are all very useful to me to illuminate areas that were dark.

These are great! I bought them to put in the bedroom closets of our travel trailer and they’re perfect! They stick really good but you have to make sure you stick them on tight. Worst case is you can replace the sticky backs with command strips. The light portion works great!

While these do come on when they sense motion, they don't stay on if you aren't directly in front of them. For areas where you don't need light to be on more than a few seconds, that's okay. But don't count on these to be your sole source of light in an area where you need to move around freely. Also, the included stick on adhesive doesn't last long-buy some Command strips to securely adhere them to the wall or surface.
