Call of Duty: World at War Platinum Hits - Xbox 360

To me this by far is one of the best call of duty games there is, I like all the others but World at War is classic for three reasons, the first reason is the developers did research on WW2 combat, so when you play the game you see characters in the game acting out the same way, giving commands and fighting the same way. Second, is the battles you fight in the game are actual confrontations in World War 2 on both the Russian side and American side. Third, it is just a fun game with a lot of action in it and emotion, for example when you invade the German and Nazy headqauters as a Russian soldier with the Russian army, you can feel how much chaos there must have been and fear, you feel the ruthlessness and determination of the Russian army.All in all this is a fun game, with a lot of research and history put into it, I can see why the developers wanted this to be a historical yet extreme and exciting game, to actually put the player in those situations and to feel like what it must have been like. So I would say play the game, you won't be disappointed. :)

Tough campaigns really worth buying

To anybody who has played Black Ops 1 campaign, you remember Viktor Reznov and Vorkuta. This game shows his origin in a slight omage to enemy at the gates. Also, I was amazed at the quality of the Marine levels fighting the Japanese in the Pacific.probably the most difficult part of any war to portray. I still get nervous when i hear BANZAIIIIIIII. The soviet levels are incredible and give one a sense of just how bad the eastern front was. 80% of the Nazi forces were destroyed by the Soviets! no offense to the americans canadians and british, but france, italy, north africa were all sideshows compared to the eastern front. Being a historian with a strong WW2 background I can attest to the quality and realism of this game. Good basic history and provides awesome historical footage to boot! really helps the player understand what happened. As with all COD games, play only on veteran for max realism. Oh, very important, it allows shoot throughs of objects.

In short this is a very good game for people who enjoy shooting games.There are so many oppinions on the call of duty series that I for one don't understand why people can't just write the truth or nothing at all.We don't want to hear about what other games are'nt worth buying unless you have really bought it,you say you beat the game in two hours(your a lier)please if you don't like it and own it then by all means explain your reasons but to just say the game sucks because it's the same as the other ones,well I like new cars, why? because old ones waste gas that's my oppinion,but old ones are easier to work on(what's my point)I just explained to you in short what I like and don't like with out saying any thing about how something sucks.I enjoy all shooters, why? because some are more challenging than others but only if I have played it will I base any oppinions.

The Stalingrad campaign ruins this game at the outset. Immersion is sacrificed by lazy design.TWO early "challenges" in the very first stage of the Russian half are totally screwed up by your "ally" and the game engine.1) The first Sniper on the Top Floor bit is entirely a 1-in-5 chance at a do-or-die crapshoot, due to lousy prone-fire mechanics and the sniper's ability to see you before he ever can... possibly see you. On top of this poop-pie, Reznov is yelling useless info at you while not bothering to firea single shot back, even though he's introduced as a SNIPER from the get-go(!)2) The "Crawl through the building set on fire" shortly after the sniping debacle. No explanation is necessary - everyone and their mother rightly detests this sort of stuck-on-a-track "gaming". And again, a) Reznov only gets in the way, and b) is the moron that led us into this trap in the first place.The Pacific campaign doesn't suffer so much from "ally" incompetence, but you will notice that you typically have to kill at least HALF of the opponents yourself at many a stage. In other words - your fellow soldiers are a ~terrible~ shot. It gets very repetitive after clearing out the 30-50th bunker with flamethrowers and grenades. At this point, WaW is not good for much but re-visiting a somewhat simpler era in FPS war gaming.

第二次大戦物ということで、購入したのですが、これがまた面白い！腕や脚が千切れたり、頭が割れたり、内臓が飛び出たりとかなりリアルな表現が戦争の残酷さをうまく表現しています。日本軍と戦うステージはあまり面白くありませんが、ソ連軍のステージは狙撃したり、戦車に乗ったりドイツ軍の高性能な自動火器を奪って戦ったりと特に面白いです。音楽も独ソ戦のダークな雰囲気を感じさせるものがあって、十分楽しいです。CODシリーズではこの作品が個人的に一番好きです。もっと早く出会うべき作品でした。あと、気になったのが、グレネードをポンポン投げてくるのが、少しイラっとします。

1. Campaign:The game is enjoyable, very good, and ALSO VERY HARD at Veteran. The Soviet Campaign is really incredible. US Campaign is good, but not as good as Soviet's.As a US Marine, Pvt Miller you fight with the imperial Japanese soldiers, and as a Red Army soldier Pvt Dimitri Petrenko you fight with the Nazi Soldiers.2. Features:Features are quite dull. Checkpoint system is extremely poor. Most of US weapons are useless, so you have to pick Japanese ones, like Type 100, Type 99. M1-Garand was very good though. Killing unlimited number of soldiers in the battlefield is also very frustrating. The grenades thrown by you return back due to the Enemy AI.3. Modes:Easy - Game plays by itself.Medium - Same as above.Hard (Recommended) - The game will feel as a real war.Vereran - You wont survive unless and until you are a "Pro".4. Misc:Anyway, I recieved the game with damaged inner area, especially the disc holder. The quality of disc is VERY NICE, but the same thing about the cover cannot be said.

Good game can play for hours
