Is it a worthy remake?
Fable was, and to this day, was an amazing game to play. It wasn't that the graphics were the greatest, or the story, or even the gameplay; rather, the combination of all of that which tied it all together, making it a fantastic game. Within the last few years I would pop open the Fable: TLC case for the Xbox, pop it into my Xbox 360 and give it another play through. And further installations were no match for the original Fable's story, because they began drifting from what made Fable a great game. But then the news came: Fable Anniversary was coming for the 360, and it would be a remake faithful to the original version! I was ecstatic, but I digress. You aren't here to read my feelings towards the game, are you? =Story The story is a rather generic story, with no definite elements to set it apart. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, because it plays like a good book. And even though the game is somewhat bland in areas, it still tends to stick out with the characters and their voice actors. The antagonist in the game serves their purpose well, and in turn helps make the story stick out. -Score: 7.5/10 =Graphics The original looked pretty good for its time, and the remake does nothing but improve upon the original. The only complaint I have is that the game seems to chug sometimes, especially towards the beginning, and the game is not on par with other high-end games. Nonetheless, it's a beautiful game and a welcome addition to the 360 collection. -Score: 8.5/10 =Gameplay Depending upon your choice of control style, it plays like one of the previous Fables. However, choosing Fable 2/3 won't allow you to sheathe your weapons, so I stuck with the Fable layout. The games controls are pretty fine, and they don't feel overly dated. The combat was rather easy, especially with a bit of practice, and the few puzzles in the game were easy as well. The game does reward you a bit with treasure chests and digging off the beaten path, but the chests tend to stick out, and the digging spots tend to be hard to find. Nevertheless, the game played well and did what it had to for an adventure game. -Score: 8/10 =Overall Fable was and is a great game, and if you liked the original then I'd say you should pick this version up as well. -Score: 8/10

First Fable Finally Fulfills! Again!
I'm a long time fan of the series, starting back with the original. I really like 2 but I hated 3. So far, Anniversary is exactly what expected, and IT IS GLORIOUS! Except for one problem. In my 2 hour playing session, the game froze 3 times. Twice I restarted the console, but on the third time I called it a night. If this problem persists, it will be too frustrating to play. I'll edit my review to be 5 stars if this issue is resolved for me at any point. Other than the freezing, I recommend this to anyone who loved the original Fable. I never got to play TLC, so I'm looking forward to finally playing that, too. Edit 1, Feb. 5, 2014: There's good activity on the Lionhead user forums regarding the freezing issue. Lionhead seems engaged in resolving this. I'm optimistic about getting the freezing fixed and bumping my review to the 5 stars this game deserves. Edit 2, Feb. 7, 2014: Based on info from the Lionhead forum I have had great success with the following steps: install game to hard drive, clear system cache and reinstall title update, wait 5 minutes on the Start screen to let the game cache before playing. In my most recent 4-hour session the game didn't lag or freeze once! So, here we go! Rating upgrade to the full 5 stars! Here's a little more about why this game is so great and why you should buy it if you haven't already: Expectations have always been infamously high going into a new Fable game. This time, my hopes were set on revitalized graphics, a better save system, better menus, and the Fable II control scheme. Fable Anniversary delivers on those completely! Fable holds a special, nostalgic place in my heart for the time I spent playing this in my younger days. You can never play a game for the first time more than once, no matter how much you loved the first time. Even time doesn't make that possible. Coming back after so many years can make the original game more disappointing than magical. With FA, though, Lionhead has breathed the life back into this game for me. It feels more how I remember it than ever, even though it's looks different and uses some different mechanics. Games are always about the experience for me, so I'm less interested in the purity of the original form than I am in the similarity of the original experience. FA is the closest I've been able to get to the gameplay that I fell in love with back in the day. Great job, Lionhead! Thanks for bringing back that wonderful experience. To anyone thinking about buying this game: If you loved or even liked the original Fable you have to get this game.

Reliving a Classic
Fable Anniversary is an amazing remastering of one of the best RPG's of all time, of which set many of the standards we currently hold for RPG's. The graphics are beautiful and crisp, while all the characters/animations look better than ever. I have had the game freeze a couple times, but other than that the only glitch i have had was one time when characters started walking sideways, and it stopped within seconds. This was one of my favorite games as a kid, and the flood of memories coming back as i progress further and further are great. If you never got around to playing this but you have played other Fable games, definitely pick this up. It might not have as many features as others, but it was created back in 2004 (keep that in mind.) A pure classic in modern times: I couldn't have asked for anything better!

I love this game
I love this game. I'm about 28 hours in to it and I think I've covered about as much as I can before going to the last area. There is alot of content and the game is like a choose your own adventure rpg. The graphics upgrade is killer. I never played the old version, but I didn't even noticed the graphics looking really dated. It has graphics about as good as the first GTA 4. All voice dialog so you won't have to be reading all the time. Character development system is simple to understand. My only gripe about this is that the game seemed too easy after I learned a few spells. Slow time makes you super overpowered. Money is really never an issue so all you have to do is carry some mana potions and spam Slow time if you are having trouble with a mission. Some of the puzzles are a little over the top and need a walkthrough. it's nothing you can't look up on gamefaqs though if you are stuck. get the game! I'm going to try fable 2 and 3 next. I hope they get better!

The same great classic.. But better
Love it! I had the original and this is just as I remembered with much better graphics. Also bonus content at the end of the game and made the map more fun. I started to use the smartglass feature, which gives you a map on your phone or tablet with the smartglass app. However it didn't always sync up well with your location and it didn't impress me all that much. But it is an available feature that some may like more and may work better for some. Overall, so satisfied that I bought it and if you are thinking of buying it also, do it! You won't regret it.

This game is still frigging great after 10 years!!
Ok, Fable TLC was, in my opinion, one of the best games that came out in 2004! After 10 years it still is! Here is a suggestion if you are in need of lots of experience... Do the Hero Guild to Oakvale grind. So much experience! Cons: Silver Key glitch was removed..... This game is worth it!!!

Beautiful Graphics Update
The Good: The original Fable for XBOX was an excellent game, and this re-release for XBOX 360 updates the graphics to HD and makes it even more beautiful. It's nice to have a more recent version to go back to, when I miss Fable. The Bad: This is literally JUST a graphics update to the expanded Lost Chapters version of Fable. No other changes were made. While this would seem like a good thing, it isn't. The old Fable had several very annoying bugs, which would have been very easy to fix, but they didn't take the time to do so. For example, there was a bug in the town own Knothole Glade, where one random townsperson would mysteriously vanish from the game and never appear again. That glitch is still present. Somehow, this frequently seems to be a shopkeeper (it was for me). This makes one or more "fetch" quests impossible to finish, because the person selling the thing you need to collect has vanished from the game. On the whole, it is worth buying, if only to have a prettier version of the game to show your kids someday. I just wish they had taken a little extra time and made it perfect, It is so close.

The game is a good old classic
The game is a good old classic. But this anniversary edition had so much lag that it was difficult to play certain levels. I had to eventually return it.
