Stretch Charmeuse Satin Pucci Jade, Fabric by the Yard

Lovely, very thin, lightweight, silky hand, faux silk satin charmeuse. The color is beautiful. The quality is good across the board. Ben Textile is an outstanding manufacturer & all of their fabrics I have purchased & sewn over the years are top quality! I plan to make a set of luxury pjs & robe for winter.

This is a nice quality satin in a decent weight. it has a nice hand but it will not drape like Charmeuse. For the $$ i will keep it and use it on a different project. But if you are looking for Charmeuse this is not it. I knew when 10 yd fit in a mailer it was not charmeuse. This is not a stretch satin either so if you are looking for stretch you only get the normal bias stretch.

Great color, a true eggplant purple. Very, very thin/lightweight. This would not be good for any garment that needs structure, but perfect for kids costumes. Not something I’d use for “real” clothes as it is obviously cheap polyester. You MUST finish the edges of this either by heat-sealing or applying a product like fray-check, even if you plan to serge the edges, I would either apply fray-check before cutting out the pattern pieces OR use the fine point attachment of a wood burning tool to cut out your pieces because this is not strong fabric. It is loosely woven and cheap, as you would expect from the price. This will not hold up in a seam that experiences any stress, definitely use interfacing or underlining. That said, it is perfect for a costume my 3 year old will wear a handful of times before outgrowing.

I hate it when i order something and i get something else...i use online shopping to reduce hastle....not to increase it. Disappointing experience.

Perfect! It came looking just like the picture. One side is sheen like the picture and the other side is duller and slightly darker color. The stretch is there, albeit very small. It is only 10% across the grain so do not expect much. The quality of the fabric is great and delivery was extremely fast. It is not see-through so it will work great for clothing. It is lightweight but not tulle light, it can handle being sewn on a machine but be careful of the threading strength and speed. I brought only one yard because I wanted to see how good it was before I brought more and now I will be buying a lot more.

Seeing that the only other review is a negative one, I figure I'd weigh in on this product.If you are looking for something STRETCHY stretchy, you're going to need something that has more than 2% spandex. It also clearly says it has a 10% stretch WITH the grain, so just based upon reading that I can assume that the stretch AGAINST the grain will be different.As far as I'm concerned, there is no false advertising here.

The color is gorgeous, probably more of a deep color. This is a great value for such lovely, soft fabric, will make a pretty blouse or dress.

Don't buy. Another piece of garbage from Ch!na.It bleeds and stains whatever with which they come in contact.After a few days, threw it in the trash can.
