APC 1500VA Battery Backup with LCD

I make my living leading courses via Zoom. Some months ago, I moved to a new house and plugged my iMac computer into the wall, along with my external hard drives and (low wattage) video lighting.I had frequent tripped circuit breakers (once or twice a week), even when I plugged the iMac into a less expensive battery backup (APC BE550G). This was unacceptable because I would lose my Zoom connection in the middle of a 2-hour class!I tried buying a second APC BE550G to use just for the computer. No change.But the APC 1500VA works like a charm! As before, I have plugged my computer and hard drives into it. But now, in the month since I began using it, I have had NO tripped circuit breakers at all!

This is the second of this type (similar to this) from APC I've bought in a few years. It just works. No issues. When the power goes out it keeps me running until I can shut down. Little power glitches aren't a problem. Big enough to include the monitor and a few other things. Not cheap, but definitely worth it.

Working from home I was dealing with short power fluctuations that kept shutting down my computer and making me lose work. This has saved my life. Enough battery power to run a high end computer tower and 3 monitors for 20 minutes which is more than enough time to save and shut things down safely. Doesn't even blink at the power flickers that were making my life hell.

Working ok so far, but a teardown of the unit reveals that they are using aluminum for the transformer winding instead of copper, and APC apparently doesn't know how to solder or crimp aluminum, which can cause arcing and/or a fire.Check our "Mr Carlsons Lab" on youtube and search for UPS Electrical Failure and you'll see what I mean.The software which comes with the unit is ok (called "Powerchute"), but there's no way to export a history of events, which is annoying. They store the data in a proprietary format rather than XML or JSON or even CSV.

Enjoyed fast service, was packaged well and is working great this far in..............we're expecting a good, long life from it !!!

the UPS I received wasn't very useful since it arrived with a dead battery.

For the cost it is a very good product. Once the battery is depleted everything shuts off but once power is restored everything comes back online. Believe it or not that is a hard function to find that works correctly and for this price YOU CAN"T BEAT IT!

My old battery backup went out and I did my research and saw this was a recommended one. So glad the connection to the Mac works. Usually it is only a PC that the usb connections work with. Works great.
