Good boot bad sizing
The padding is comfortable but obstructs ability to get foot all the way back in boot. Gives good stretch. Buyer be ware the sizing is wrong that is advertised and suggested. The suggested size was a small for me but it was way to small and forget about returning it costs more than the boot. I ended up having to order a second one a size bigger. Fits well.

Plantar fasciitis splint
I have been fighting plantar fasciitis for over a year!! I got a stone bruise on my heel last June (2012) and the bleeding and inflammation caused scar tissue and adhesions, thus the condition known as @%$*#@ freaking fasciitis (if you've suffered with it, you'd be cussing, too). My podiatrist apparently is in it just for the money, so his "cure" was 2 cortisone injections, a suggestion to stretch the tendon frequently and if that didn't work, we could do surgery!! Yikes!I have been going to physical therapy for several weeks and it it helping, but there was no real progress until I got this gem. If you have plantar fasciitis, don't mess around with a cheaper version, they are not worth it, can irritate your toes, etc. Buy one of these and use it!! A bit awkward to sleep in, but do what you have to to get used to it and use it!! You can wear it during the day to get used to it and it doesn't have to be cinched up tight to work.

No problems.
I've used two brands of PF boot, this was the second. Had no problems other than it's hard to buckle on the left if you're right-handed (they need a left and right). I wore this about a year and then switched to stretches when first waking up and didn't have to wear it any more. Last July I went gluten-free on a whim and surprise, surprise - my PF disappeared within 2 days. It's been over 5 months and it hasn't come back. But if I ever need a boot again I'd order this one.

Updated Review, Downgraded Rating
11/29/12: After wearing this for a week, with some initial relief, my foot wasn't getting much better. My recent visits with my podiatrist and physical therapist both gave this a thumbs down due to the ineffective wedge design.1.) Depending on the severity of plantar fasciitis, this may work for some provided you're placing the wedge in the correct part of your foot. If not, you could do more harm than good and there are no instructions that come with this to guide you to proper placement. The fact that the wedge was not large enough for my problem required me to fold up a sock to augment the thin wedge.2.) This may work better if the problem is with your left foot and you have better access to fastening the clips into the buckle and adjusting the straps.3.) If the problem is on the right foot, and you have someone who can help you, you're in luck. If not, trying to contort your body into an impossible position makes this very frustrating to put on since you have to fumble blind with connecting the clips into the buckles. I also found that once connected, pulling the straps to adjust often disconnected the clips.4.) Lastly, once you've exhausted yourself with putting this on, expect not to get a good nights sleep as this is very uncomfortable. And on several occasions, the buckle(s) tend un-clip themselves during the night. If the manufacturer wanted to improve this, they should have their R&D try to put this on their right foot - unassisted! Also, the wedge is too thin and too short to accommodate the various severity of plantar fasciitis. A longer wedge, with shims just might make this a better product.Original Review: For the price, this works well but I find that I need to add a folded up sock under the ball of my foot to give better support. It would be nice if the straps could be adjusted to allow for the difference between the right and left foot. If wearing on your right foot, it makes it difficult to clip the straps together since you can't see what you're doing.

Works once you get used to awkwardness at night
Very awkward and uncomfortable at first although after months and months of pain, this seemed to work. Husband was able to walk in morning after using this for a few days. At first he went nuts because awkward to sleep in and would take off during the night although he was able to use throughout the night after a week, he said it worked enough to ease most pain and enable him to get up without having to gently put down foot due to pain and move very slowly for first 2 hrs of day in extreme pain. Surprisingly so it does work if you give it a chance.

Well worth the price
I bought these a few days ago for both feet. I am satisfied. They are uncomfotable in the sense that my foot wants to plantarflex and fights the splint. That it is uncomfortable means the splint is doing what it was designed to do. Tough to sleep in at first but I've been easing myself into it with success. I also wear them lounging around or doing anything while sitting. Quick to adjust and quick to put on and take off. I little problems with the right side that everyone is complaining about. I can see why heavier or less flexible folks might have trouble but I have not had much trouble at all putting in and taking off the right side.

Mixed Feelings
I have only worn this 3 nights and I must admit that my heel does feel better in the am for a little while. However, it is very uncomfortable and bulky to sleep with. Also, I wake up and it slides right off my leg. I have it as tight as I can. I also find that the pad of my foot hurts from trying to push the splint away.
