Not for me - I want hickory
I fell in love with hickory syrup. However, this is not what I consider quality hickory syrup. In fact, the natural hickory is down on the list of ingredients compared to other brands. My advice, spend the money and be sure hickory is the top ingredient. I would not recommend this to anyone wanting to experience the joy of quality hickory syrup.

Hickory-flavored Turbinado Sugar Syrup.
Not what I thought it is!This syrup isn't reduced hickory sap similar to maple syrup. It is turbinado sugar syrup with hickory bark extract for flavor. The taste is ok but it just isn't made from tree sap gathered from trees with taps and buckets.

Interesting, good, worth trying once, but not again.
I bought this out of curiosity because I like trying new things. It's good. I prefer real maple and since this costs more than real maple that made it disappointing. I will use the product because it tastes good. I don't regret buying the product because I like trying new things. However, I will not repurchase.

I miss getting hickory nuts every fall from my sister's farm, but I do not miss shelling them. If I can't have nuts, I can have syrup.

Overpowering taste of turbinado sugar
I knew this wasn't actually hickory sap boiled down (it's a simple syrup boiled with hickory bark), but I was at least expecting *some* hickory flavor. Unfortunately Falling Bark Farms really missed the mark and used turbinado sugar instead of white sugar. If you don't know, turbinado sugar is less refined and retains much of the original molasses, basically tasting like brown sugar, and giving the brown color. Unfortunately the taste of molasses completely overpowers any taste of hickory, so you basically just bought an expensive bottle of brown sugar syrup. My advice (which I'm gonna try next) is head to etsy and find a seller listing cane sugar. The color should be light brown instead of dark like this product

Inferior Product. Don't be fooled.
Ingredients: turbinado sugar, hickory bark extractIt's basically simple syrup with added extract. Does not taste like hickory. If Aunt Jemima made hickory syrup it would taste like this. Even more awful when you consider the price.
