Not actually 3/4" MDF build, but Seller (HiFiSoundConnection) was extremely helpful with a return
This particular sub enclosure is shipped in a thin cardboard box which is exactly the same size as the product. Mine arrived with one of the corners bashed in (so I returned it). It'd be great if it was double-boxed but that's not always an option for Sellers moving lots of product. UPS is... well, we all know they play rugby with our packages. The FRONT FACE (aka "baffle") of this cabinet, where you mount your subwoofer, is in fact 1" thick MDF. That's a good thing where subs are concerned. However, the OTHER FIVE sides of the box are all 5/8" thick MDF, NOT 3/4" as described for this item (I measured using calipers to make sure). For my purposes-- adding solid bass boost but not competition-grade volumes-- 5/8" MDF is not the end of the world. But those of you planning to run 500-1000 RMS watts into a competition-level driver, in this box, might experience some unwanted vibrations or rattling (or even damage to the box itself). You probably already suspected as much, but to get a competition-grade box that will withstand anything you throw at it, you'll probably have to spend double the price of this box, maybe more. This is definitely a "consumer product" only.In any event, when I spoke directly with a representative at HiFi Sound Connection, they were VERY cordial and helpful as far as processing my return quite promptly. So I'd certainly buy from HFSC again.

Good enclosure concept. A little rattle at times.
I read previous reviews after I purchased the enclosure. They were right about the opening for mounting of my UM18-22 18" Dayton sub is oversized. Between that and speaker baffle rattles a little when intense bass hits.

This fits both deep and shallow mounted speakers.
Would of given five stars, but the packaging didn't keep the box corners from getting damaged. I would of sent it back, but didn't feel like waiting another week for another box. Sound Quality is good, I put 2 of the Planet Audio 15s on a 3000 watt amplifier. No complaints other than that.

Almost perfect for re sx 18 inverted
Carpet was a little beat up but thats to be expected honestly with a box that wieghs 100 lbs.the cutout for the speaker is a little big like others have mentioned for a 18inch. Its more like a 19 or 20inch cut out but it worked out ok for me with my re sx18 mounted inverted plenty of room for the suround to fit inside the rim of the cut out was right next the mounting holes but since the wood is 1 inch thick i predrilled the holes at a 45 degree angle then bought some metal fasteners at home depot. Even though im not using the terminal cups "sub is inverted" they are pretty nice some of the best ive seen on a prefab box. Update: after 2 weeks of banging the port cracked in the middle had to put some wood inside the port to brace it.

Low line 18 box if you don't mind small mods.
Would like to give this 5 stars, but a couple details keep me in particular from giving it 5 stars. The problem many reviewers have with the hole size was not an issue for me. An Re Audio MX18 fits perfectly without any modification to the hole. With that said If you have anything but an Re MX18 or any other larger than normal subwoofer you will have issues mounting your woofer as the hole will be too large. Unfortunately the Re needs a much more port area than this box offers, a little over double to be exact, so extensive modifications need to be done to get the sub to perform properly. Also the 2 smaller sides(the port side and the opposite side)are 3/4 mdf. I bought this box to hopefully perform some small mods as I typically do with a prefab, but this one will require more than some small mods. Build quality is good as it is mostly 1"mdf, but needs to be much better for my application. Would recommend for any low line 18, but keep in mind the hole will be too big for a low line 18.

Perfect for oldish Nissan Altimas (2000 here)
Great box, fairly durable with okay terminal cups. The posts are angled inside making them a pain in the bum to connect to if you're using o-ring type speaker connections, otherwise fits my Kicker CWQ154 perfectly. It's a powerful sub so it's impressive this box has handled it no problems so far. Also in a 2000 Nissan Altima GXE this is the biggest 15 box you can fit in the trunk due to the metal hinges of the trunk, unless you do a weirdly thin flat type box with the sub facing upwards.

It's ok, but NOT Universal Fit!
I ordered this box for an Obsidian Audio V2 18" and it wasn't able to mount correctly because the cutout diameter was just half an inch bigger than the mounting depth for the Obsidian sub. The box overall is sturdy, but I've had difficulty with the shipping. For some reason, the workers who ship this box don't know how to handle it carefully and ended up bending the wood on the outside of the port, causing me to resend it back and get a new one.The title is misleading. It is NOT a universal fit! If you are considering buying this box, make sure you take two important factors into consideration:1. That your subwoofer can correctly attach all it's screws onto the wood without any open holes where the screws would go2. This is luck based, but you should leave details to the shipper about handling the box carefully. It's bulky and somewhat heavy.

Nice box.
Pretty nice box but It doesn't universal fit all subs. If your buying an American Bass XFL series do note that you will have to trim about 3/8 inch off the opening for it to fit. Been using for a week and haven't put full power to it since I am still breaking in my sub but it has a really great sound. Just have to wait and see if it holds together when I can really pour the power to it.
