Aromatica Volume 2: A Clinical Guide to Essential Oil Therapeutics. Applications and Profiles

There are now two volumes in the series. I own both volumes along with 100+ other clinical aromatherapy books. The book is designed for the others looking to compliment and expand their practice including those interested in Chinese medicine philosophies, massage therapy, acupuncture, chiropractors, aromatherapist, acupressure, or any other bodyworker.Overall, these two volumes provide a significant amount of detail, they are not light reading material. I use them mainly as valuable source information, like having a consult anytime, anywhere. I would definitely buy Volume 3, if it becomes available. I realize detailed compositions require significant time to compile, so eagerly awaiting Volume 3.I purchased Volume 1 in 2015 and had the opportunity to take one of his workshops, Aroma Acupoint Therapy Level I in 2016, it was an amazing class including hands-on applications. I truly feel like both volumes of Aromatics are a gift to humanity by essential oil scholar Peter Holmes. A treasure trove of fascinating, original, and easy to understand information, conceptualized by one of the great healers of our time, drawing on a lifetime of experience using essential oils to promote health and well-being. Unlike so many eo books where the recipes often don't sound appealing to me, and it's not necessarily clear why the ingredients that were chosen are in there, with this book, the blends make a lot of sense and, intuitively, seem like they would be heavenly to smell, which is important as a pleasant and appealing scent with the accompanying psychoneuroimmunological response is a great motivator to actually using a blend, which is crucial in order to achieve the the desired results..

There are a lot of books on essential oils. This one goes into great detail.Cons: not sure it is worth the money.

Brilliant book, well presented and good blend of eastern and western perspectives.

Das ist ein Buch für die klinische Praxis, sehr umfangreich und mit einer außergewöhnlichen Sorgfalt geschrieben, so wie Peter Holmes auch in "The Energetics of Western Herbs" bewiesen hat. Das Buch ist hoch professionell und die Erklärungen sind ausführlich, den Text kann trotzdem auch ein Laie verstehen. Die einzelnen Öle werden mit ihren botanischen Eigenschaften eingetragen; bei jedem Öl wird erklärt wie es hergestellt wird, welche therapeutische Funktionen es erfüllt, mit welchem anderen Öl die beste Synergie entsteht, wie jede Mischung zubereitet wird, Vorsichtsmaßnahmen, Verwendung in der chinesischen Medizin und dazu kommen noch viele Kommentare, die das Bild von jedem Öl ergänzt. Man kauft und man benutzt die ätherischen Öle anders nach dem man dieses Buch gelesen hat.

Once again Peter Holmes delivers. Excellent in so many ways.
