Exactly what I was looking for -
I've been dabbling with portable streaming solutions for about 10 years now. I've had some success and a great deal of frustration working with compute sticks. The Minix Ubuntu solution works out of the box, and is the absolute best I've found for under $250. The only caveat is, sound doesn't go through the HDMI like the compute stick so external speakers are necessary (add those, the usb keyboard and mouse and you're pushing $250.)Easy 5 stars. If I could give 6 or more stars, I would.

Not a good Linux box- stay away
I bought this as a basic Linux box. I received the computer and performed apt-get update and upgrade which promptly "bricked" the computer due to many proprietary drivers. Amazon kindly sent a replacement. I never again tried to update the machine. It is a slow computer, even with Ubuntu and very short on memory. I have put it away as trash. I have switched to an i3 Intel NUC which is slightly more expensive and runs like a charm. I suspect this Minix may be useful in some application where it will be "static" and never upgraded perhaps devoted to one fixed task. If you want a Linux computer, look elsewhere.

Excellent product
It is what it should be and it works well. I would like more power but it depends on the intended use.

Excellent
I expected a fanless (no noise) pc for my own home automation system. it does perfectly the job due first to stability of ubuntu 18 then second due to its ability to restart after power failure and due third to its number of excellent usb ports excellent wifi. Great Job made py Minix....Great decision to Not Install Windows10 which is uncontrollable and so bugged

Proprietary Wifi adapter is not compatble with Linux Mint or other distros
The proprietary Wifi adapter is not compatible with Linux Mint or other distros. You're pretty much stuck with the factory Ubuntu Gnome3/Unity install, if you plan to use Wifi. CPU is very slow.

Beware of updates.
Worked fine for a while, then bricked after an update was installed.
