Ian and Valeri Co. Black Cherry Amber Silver Leverback Contemporary Earrings

I loved everything about these earrings online and I wasn’t disappointed when I received them and saw them in person. They are very sleek and contemporary and simple enough that they can be worn with dress and heels or jeans.People have complained about the color and about the lever back closures. The color of mine is exactly right - a deep cherry cola color. Try don’t scream red but are a deep, rich brown-red. As for the clasps, mine are well made and close perfectly. As a matter of fact, the workmanship is beautiful.Lastly, I think perhaps people need to read about amber and understand it before they purchase. One comment stated they couldn’t be real as they seemed like resin. Another thought they weren’t real or poor quality because when held to a light, small inclusions were visible. This is simply a matter of not understanding what they are purchasing.

These earings are even more beautiful than the picture and I am very pleased with them. There were several complaints about the hooks not lining up in the other reviews but I have not had that problem. The silver is very beautiful and the hooks are very well made and sturdy. The Amber is a very deep red as described and was mistaken as garnet many times. The price was a little high but now that I have the earings it was worth it. They are the perfect size and go well both with casual clothes and when I dress up. I debated for months on whether or not I would spend the money but now wish I hadn't waited. They are beautiful and wish I had bought them sooner. If you are reading this review then you want another's opinion, and mine is this, buy them.

These are well-made earrings and they were shipped quickly. That's the good part. On the other hand, they were a bit smaller than I expected. The description accurately said they measured 1.5" long; but just to be very clear, that includes the ear-wire. The drops themselves are slightly less than an inch long, and the amber is less than a half inch in length. Overall, they are quite dainty, which is fine, but it would have been helpful to have seen a photo of them being worn in order to gauge the over-all size. I am disappointed, however, in the color of the amber. In natural light, they just look like a very non-descript brown to me. Given my hair color, the amber will visually disappear and all one will see are the silver caps at the top. That's not the effect I was hoping for. In order to get any sense of the reddish, "cherry" tint, you have to hold them up to the light.

I thought these were very well made, very chic and eye catching.However, because I have brown hair, you couldn't see the amber since cherry amber is so dark. The only way to see they're red is if light shines through them, so they really looked more black on me. They might show up better if your hair is very short or pulled up high.

Originally wrote review below but can't recommend now. One of the stones broke & fell out of its setting after one week of normal wear. Wife liked them so going for replacement & hope for better quality. Otherwise refund & not buying from this seller again![Christmas present for dear sweet wife. She loved them! She likes silver and clip-backs so she doesn't lose them. She also likes jewelry that has something distinctive about it, like stuff that's handmade by Native Americans, or made from ancient Roman coins & glass, made from sunken treasure, that sort of thing. Baltic amber jewelry is as pretty as any gemstone plus it's millions of years old. Amber was key in the central premise of Jurassic Park book & movie. I like that's it's not crazy overpriced like crummy diamond stuff. Highly recommend!]

My wife living in Dominican Republic has always liked the hoops best till she put these on and now I see her wearing nothing else. These you could wear with jeans or a fine gown and you will look great no matter where you wear them. My wife has had many compliments on them. They are in one word WOW. I may surprise her with a pair of the light amber color or matching pendant in the dark cherry, the dark cherry looks beautiful against her coffee color skin. As alway my order from Amazon.com came quick and was at a very good price.

The color of amber is new to me, but the modern design of the earing caught my eye, along with my favorite leverbacks so I ordered them. I have a short neck so I was delighted with the length and the color of the amber is intriguing and unusual. The sterling "caps" that hold the stones are shiny and simple in design, making the earing easy to wear for sport or dress. Thank you, Ian and Valeri Co. for your unique design.

I couldn't be more pleased with these earrings. The light plays through the amber beautifully, offering up the expected red, and even hints of blue and green at times. The silver is full of luster and the mounts are very comfortable.Very sophisticated, yet I can see these with a tank top and jeans as well.I hesitated on these, but I'm so glad that I went ahead and purchased them. They truly are wonderful.
