My husband asked me to make sure I reviewed this desk. We bought the 72' desk, the 48' return and the 3 draw matching cabinet together. My husband said this is hands down the best quality desk that he has ever put together, and he works in IT, so he's put together a ton! It took him very little time to assemble, and all of the pieces are super sturdy and high quality. No chipping paint, or flaking particle board on these puppies! I've been using mine for a couple of weeks now, and I couldn't be happier. I have enough space for three computers with 28" monitors, and still plenty of room for my books and various items. I love how the pieces go almost all of the way to the floor. There is only about an inch or two at the bottom...just enough to help with air flow (you don't want a hot computer), but hides all of the ugly wires. I can't recommend this desk series enough!

I really like this series of furniture. I have purchased four completes desks. They look great and are pretty good quality. Laminate beats that wall paper stuff all day! These are still particle board but the laminate that covers them is great. Just like laminate countertops. Will last a very long time. Great color and easy to assemble. Very pleased and will buy more. One part came in broke but they were quick to respond and sent a new one right away. Great service!!

Ordered on Sep 9, 2016. When the pedestal base arrived, we noticed that the handles were different from the picture. The new handles are a more traditional type of handle that you can put your fingers all the way around. I believe the new design for the handles is nice, but it does not at all match the previous handles. I already have a set of this furniture, so it will look very strange if I have to have one pedestal base with the different handles, especially since it would be in the same desk shell with another pedestal in the older style. It is very noticeable, especially since the new handles are attached in the middle of the drawer, rather than at the top. Alera is currently in transition to the new handle style, so the file cabinet I bought on the same day has the old handles, which is fine for me since they match my existing pieces. I called the manufacturer, and they are telling me I am not likely to be able to get a pedestal replacement with the old handles. Even if the handles could be replaced, the pre-drilled holes in the drawer face are in the wrong position. This issue should only be a problem for you if you are trying to match a set with the older handles. If you get a new set and some of the pieces have the old handles, Alera will probably provide you with replacement pieces with the new handle style. And I do highly recommend this furniture over all. Other than this style change, I have had no problems with it. It is much nicer than furniture you will see at those office stores, and Alera provides excellent service through the 800 number provided with every piece. I will also contact the seller with this issue, but I don't think they can resolve it, since this does not seem like an in stock item, but rather a drop ship from the manufacturer.

These drawers are almost exactly the right fit height wise for my Bush Furniture L shaped desk. I honestly didn't need the drawers but I bought these to help support the back corner of my desk and they work great for that. The way I have them I can't use the top drawer but that's ok. They come pre assembled all you need to do is use a phillips head screwdriver to remove the handles then reinstall them the correct way. They put them on the inside of the drawers so they don't get damaged during shipping. To mount these to a desk top they come with 4 machine screws and 4 washers. The 2 top cross bars have slots cut into them so you can put the screws where you need them. In my case my desk didn't have anything to screw these style screws into so I first installed some pre-inserted nuts. I had to pre-drill the holes and also countersink them for the pre-inserted nuts to screw in flush. You could use large wood screws if you didn't want to go the pre-inserted nut route. In the end I am very happy with these drawers.

Very deceptive. Photo shows a nice, free standing small file cabinet. No mention is made that the entire top of the cabinet is missing. the woodgrain nicely matched our desk and dresser so this file would work perfectly. Wrong. It obviously needs to be attached to a particular desk not diagramed with the file cabinet. You'd need a crystal ball to understand what you need to know. This imposter should be picked up free of charge and the real file delivered instead.

I bought this to connect to my reception desk & return shell. Works great, even has keys to lock the files away. Once attached to the reception desk, there is about 2" from the floor to the bottom of the draws. I received all the items in 1 day of shipping! It was put together easily but Amazon home services and I couldn't be happier! It looks great in my job's office.

Good, but too expensive (it is bit expensive than the actual bow desk) :)

I use the main desk and have a few added items including 2 of the file cabinets. The bottom drawer came off the track in both cabinets and the roller piece broke in both cases. The bottom drawer is used for various files, nothing heavier than what it is made for, but broke on both? I have had to jimmy it to work as well as I can. I just need to ensure that the drawer does not ope all the way or I will have to work it back on. This system could have been made better.
