Great product - tip for saving $ on pads
My 4 YO still wets at night. But he's gotten to the point where he doesn't like wearing a "baby diaper" (he has an older brother, so he sees what brother is wearing to bed and it's not diapers!). Pull ups appeased him for a while, but he's a lot happier with these "real" big boy underwear.Tip: we had a bunch of size 5 regular diapers my son had grown out of last year. I trimmed them up and created a pad which fits pretty nicely inside this underwear. A size 4 diaper would probably be perfect. If you're willing to spend a few minutes with scissors, you can save quite a bit of $. Size 4 diapers are about 16 cents here on Amazon. The Goodnites inserts are 50 cents each. Depending on how frequently your child wets at night, this delta in cost can add up quick. And this makes it cheaper than Pull-ups, too! Also, the outer layer of the diaper is designed to stay dry. The Goodnites insert layer which touches the underwear gets slightly damp which means you have to at least wipe or rinse the underwear every time. So even after cutting the diapers, I think it still saves saves time (and wear and tear on the underwear).

Good beginner underwear
My 20 month old is the size of a 4-5yr old boy so may be too big for your 1yr old. He’s 3ft5inches tall over 35+ lbs. we’re 3 sizes away from adult shoes. These fit him perfectly even over his diaper so a little room to grow. Tried with diaper where pad goes he’s an extremely heavy pee kid. He also lugs a water bottle around all day for comforting so not a surprise. We used he peed 1st time tiny leak but saved my furniture! Wasn’t bad 2nd time no leak. Hand washing then dryer for normal use washer for leaks. Putting it over his diaper now. He shows them off but made it verbally clear that even tho he poi’s y pees occasionally in the potty since 6 months that nope not interested in full time. Sigh 10% me 90% toddler to potty train. My now turning 19yr old was 4 before she fully did due to a stubborn personality. Hopefully this one will budge sooner! Got these since he’s in sz 5 diapers y can wear 6’s so running out of diaper sizes!

Work well for us, pad needs redesign
My son still has accidents at night often enough to where these are worth it. At least for us, I think the pad is way too big for a boy. Boys need protection in the front not the back. With such a large pad the undies still look like a diaper, but slightly less bulky. My solution was to cut the pad in half, tape the cut ends with fabric medical tape and insert. You have to tape the ends otherwise the little absorbing grains get everywhere. The undies are tight enough to keep the pad in place. It won’t protect in case of a super full bladder, but neither would the full pad, since the pee goes out the side no matter how big the pad. These might even be a good solution for daytime accidents for an older boy, who has out grown pull ups. There is no “diaper” sound even with the full pad. Since these are less bulky, pants will fit better. Other kids won’t be able to tell that the child has accidents.I haven’t tried this, but if you have the inserts for cloth diapers, they might work with these. The disposable pads for G diapers worked well with these pants. I’m not sure if they are cheaper option, but I still had lots left over from regular diaper days.

Work well, look like real underpants, a little bulky
I really like this product. My 5-year-old son liked the idea of wearing something that looks like "real" underwear to bed, as opposed to pull-ups or diapers. We have had pretty good luck in terms of leaks- out of a couple dozen nights wearing these, he only had a leak once, and then it was catastrophic, so he must have had them on askew. My only complaints are that the inserts are a little expensive, although you can use them more than once, and I realized that the fuzzy bunz inserts from his old pocket diapers fit really well into the underpants, and they are softer than the disposable inserts. They are also pretty bulky, and my son has complained a couple of times that they are uncomfortable, but it doesn't prevent him from wearing them or sleeping through the night.

Finally GoodNites sleep
Went from pull ups to these and couldn't be happier. Little bulky, but as long as IT is pointed into the liner, we have 0 (zero, nada, none) leaks. Which we were having almost nightly with pull ups (and only when the quantity of urine output increased as he aged). These are great. We took them recently on a vacation, I though oh we'll bring extra liners just in case (gone a week). We only used three the whole time we were gone (he's usually going through one each night). And he loves that this gives him the big boy feel. In the morning he takes the wet liner out, throws it away, throws the undies in the washer. Express wash, hang to dry, (and two pair, so each of these get washed and worn ever other day) good to go. And I like that it makes him feel like he's a big guy since now he has "nighttime underwear". Have definitely recommended to others with night wetters (and ours is 5, we got the S-M and they fit great).
