AMPS Adapter Plate

For those that have a RMax 1000 without the factory GPS screen having the plastic filler plate there is a spot for this to mount behind the plate. I use this for my Garmin 590LM motorcycle GPS. I use the Garmin car mount cradle. Used the Garmin cig lighter plug in by mounting female 12 volt fused plug in under the hood and running the cradle (proprietary plug in) connection through the firewall directly to the factory cradle. It works great solid mount. To finish out the look I put 1/8 inch flat piece of rubber the same size as the factory plate. All you have to do is cut out a hole in the rubber for the cradle to be accessible.

This adapter plate is a good buy. I love my phone holder but I'm not a fan of vent installations, and this adapter plate paired with a proclip holder was the perfect solution for a Dodge Challenger. It's sturdy and well made. It doesn't vibrate and the holes line up correctly. I'm so impressed that I'm ordering one for my daughter's Chrysler 200.

This has proven to be an excellent solution to mounting my phone in my car. I got the metal version, and I highly recommend it - particularly if you're using a strong magnet to hold your phone (like HaloLock, ESR - I suspect that a plastic mount would break being subjected to temperature changes and the force required to remove the phone.) I initially wished that the entire mount was the flat black color, but it ultimately doesn't matter that the ball is silver - it ends up being covered by the socket of the mount. The holes lined up perfectly and it installed in about 2 minutes. It does come with screws and nuts.

Bought this to adapt a phone holder to an AMPS plate on my motorcycle. Lined up perfectly with the AMPS plate and fit the socket on my phone holder. Did exactly what I needed it to do, no complaints

I have a Garmin GPS and finally got tired of the suction cup always failing and taking the wire down with it. I built my own bracket out of sheet metal that attaches under the headlinder to the visor bolt assembly; and a secondary contact point on the windshield w/ a double sided 3m sticky for extra stability. This 4-bolt ball mount is a perfect fit (17mm) for the Garmin and works just fine. I got the plastic one and it seems very sturdy. Only 4 stars because the bag of machine screws/nuts only came with 3 screws and 4 nuts. Lol. Luckily I have a couple machine screws laying around so it wasn't a big deal

This little adapter plate does two things for you. Number one it makes it easy to install on most third-party vehicle mounting systems. But the biggest thing it does is prevent the 17 mm ball adapter from unscrewing during normal use. One problem with a lot of adapters is that they thread in so the right vibration or the right conditions will lead to your phone's weight at the end of it suddenly drooping or coming loose by unscrew the rear threads. This adapter doesn't have that problem. So all you have to do is secure the four holes on the outer portion of the plate and everything else is rock solid. If you have a very heavy device or mount at the end of this 17 mm ball, I highly recommend going with this mounting solution versus a threaded mount where the adapter itself simply threads under a single bolt. This design prevents casual loosening or unscrewing of the ball adapter while in use or during temperature change. Obviously if you have a mounting system that doesn't have a flat AMPS surface you may find this more difficult, but if you're using a system similar to proclip this will fit on most proclip exposed vehicle mounting surfaces. I recommend it for that reason. Also the tapping screws that come with most proclip adapters will properly secure these holes without tearing out.

Pieced together a custom mount for my 2017 Honda Fit GK5. It consists of the Proclip custom mount for the Honda Fit GK part#855056, this iBolts AMPS adapter plate 17mm ball, and Lisen Magsafe Magnetic cellphone mount. Works well together. I'm glad I found this base plate. Would recommend for your custom cellphone mount projects.

I bought this to be attached on to a pro clip mount for my supra mk5 a91. It sat on the pro clip perfectly, manage to attach my MagSafe iPhone mount on top of that and vola!!!! It is a match made in heaven. This is highly recommended, it has made the whole setup very clean and looks part of the supra.

The plastic ball mount broke that came with my gps holder so I bought this. Works great

Good strong bit of kit but abit expensive, there is a cheaper plastic version which is fine for a phonemount
