This is a well made, waterproof, tight connector that will fit all 8 pin networking cable needs for JO Hum and MK products. I like that you really need to put a lot of pressure on them to mate them up, and the screws match right up. This is an all plastic terminal. I was hoping to find something with metal, but this is an excellent alternative. Also, not to make this a JO bash review, but for my application, a trolling motor directly to a fish finder, I needed a male to female cable as the trolling motor is female and the fish finder is male. If I were to get the ~ $90 cable from them, I'd have to get what's referred to as a networking extension cable at an ONLY available length of 30ft. I only needed ~ 11-12ft. In other words, I couldn't even get their standard Ethernet cables, which do come in varried lengths because it would be the wrong gender to go from my TM to my FF. So this, at about 1/8 of the price, is an amazing alternative! By the way, the M12, 8pin connector (sometimes noted as M12/8) that are widely available, and even on some reputable boat blog sites recommend, does NOT work. I've gone through a few wrong connectors and this is the one you need! Great find, I'm so elated. I cannot get over how incredibly overpriced those JO networking cables cost. At the end of the day, these are simply waterproof Ethernet cables - with this great find, you can make your own. Also, technically speaking, these are M8, 8 pin connectors. The round mating area with the pins is 8mm, thus the M8, and I believe the outside screw area is 13mm - whatever it is exactly for me, doesn't exactly matter much as it fits! I would definitely recommend this.

Although this ended up not being the exact connector I needed, it was still a quality made item.I did keep it since I know I will use it in the future.

Using my boat in our local ocean and brackish waters is a killer for the usual plugs and fittings supplied with typical electionic gear. Seems like Lowrance and the rest think their products are destintind for use mainly on fresh water since so many connectors are so poorly designed/engineered.I have substituted this plug (and it's 4 and 6 conductor companions) into as many of my marine electronic devices as I can! It works great and is unmatched in price or quality by any similar things I have found at the likes of Radio Shack or West Marine.Chuck McB

I had to extend my pontoon boat electronic motor controller from the transom to the control console. Soldered one connector to the PWM controller, and I spliced the other connector to the control panel cable. It worked out perfectly and is weather tight.

Ended up not pursuing the project I bought these for, but I'm keeping them for future use. Excellent quality, have no doubts they'll work well.
