Simple, effective, well made wireless keyboard + trackpad
I needed a new wireless keyboard and after doing a bit of research and reading some reviews, this Rii K18 Wireless Keyboard came up. One of the key features that made me look at this one was the trackpad and the overall size. Overall the quality is good as there is no flex in the keyboard, they keys are rubberised but more than effective and with the additional lighting for use when the lights are out, this makes for a great cost effective keyboard. Also it is very thin, light and does not take up much space making it portable. The setup is simple and straight forward with the keyboard connecting instantly. It goes into a sleep mode when not being used which makes the battery last a long, long time between charges. The cable management is also great with the USB charging cable hidden away when not required. The best part is the trackpad which works very well and means I do not need a mouse especially with my secondary setup from the sofa for this keyboard. Overall I am very pleased and will update again on the longevity but for the moment it is a fantastic bit of kit that works very well for the intended use case and is priced very well.

Slow recharging, no Fn lock, almost worth its cost.
Great little product with lots of obvious positives, here's a few things I noticed as minor gripes.. Recharging. It's sloooow. Like 10+ hours slow. Uses USB to charge at 5v 300mA, unsure of built in battery capacity. I use rechargeable batteries in everything and feel it could have a replaceable battery compartment for 2 AAA batteries instead, which would be cheaper to produce and definitely would allow for far longer usage times. No 'function lock'.. I use this as a multimedia keyboard and as such, use it's volume controls and mute (F2 to F4) quite a lot. A regular laptop has a function lock option so you don't have to also press the Fn button each time to access the dual function of the F keys... I greatly miss function lock on this little keyboard. It means I have to use 2 hands to turn volume down instead of 1 finger pressing 1 button. Other than that, it's generally very useful and handy. I haven't experienced delay or the need to type slower because of missed letter as others have said. They probably are pushing it to max distance from the dongle, I'm generally about a meter away and it's perfectly responsive. Overall it's probably a tiny bit overpriced but close to being worth the cost. I am mostly happy with it.

A great quality keyboard and worth every penny
I love Rii products and especially there keyboards I’ve got loads of them around the house mini ones Bluetooth ones full size wired ones wireless ones i love them and this is my favourite so far it is a bit more expensive than other products of the same thing but it’s definitely worth every penny in fact i like it that much I’ve got 2 of them now its easy to set up on windows and android and anything with a USB port to be honest it feels and looks great quality its easy to use and set up and it has all the buttons you need to control you device with ease the back light looks great to and is perfect for night time use the battery seem to last well even with heavy use and also can be used during charging to with the extension cable provided with the keyboard fast dispatch and delivery too with prime it has a good weight to it to so it feels made to last and feels like a quality item as usual from Rii i highly recommend this keyboard it’s definitely worth buying trust me you wont regret it

Great features and feel
Very compact and lightweight, and yet packed with useful features. First of all it worked with Windows 10 straight out of the box, which was a pleasant surprise. I had expected to have to install drivers first, but no, the trackpad worked immediately, although Windows eventually said it had completed installing the drivers! Although the trackpad has dedicated left and right click buttons, there is an extra left click at the top left, a very useful and thoughtful feature. Backlighting is as easy as pie: green, blue, red, off. Keyboard very tactile. No idea of the battery life yet! I'll correct this review later if necessary. Sits very nicely on any lap. I bought this to replace a functionally similar 6 inch thing with tiny keys. Physically small but it doesn't feel small in use. It feels perfect! If only Lenovo would license one of these with the addition of a TrackPoint instead of the trackpad then that would be the icing on the cake. And the price is so right. Recommended.

Good if you need it back-lit, otherwise not!
UPDATE - mousepad stopped working after a few months, sent back, wont be getting another one. Original review - All of my TV's have a little PC behind them, so I use wireless keyboards with the all, my no.1 choice being the Logi K400+, they do the job perfectly. However, it's difficult to type in the dark, so I went for this Rii, first impression are very good & the typing experience is accurate, with no odd key placement. The illumination is excellent & the colour choices are good, green for bright & red is better for a softer look. There are problems though, the most annoying, is no left or right click keys with the mousepad area, you have to tap the pad & this isn't always accurate, there is a left click top left, as with the K400+, but if you're using the keyboard one handed, holding the keyboard, scrolling & clicking (this is how you tend to do it when watching TV) then this is unusable. Then volume up/ down, a very common thing to do requires a 2 key command, so can't be done one handed again. Then the illumination is also a bit off, if you're not above, looking down at the lighted keys, you can see all of the bulbs underneath, this ruins the experience & they're very bright. Finally, even with a full charge & the lights going off when you haven't toughed them for a few seconds, the battery went flat after 2-3 evenings & you have to plug it in. With rechargeable batteries, my K400 goes for 2-3 months, so batteries may have been better. It is a good price & I would recommend the keyboard for it's illumination, but if you don't need the lights, get a K400+.

Perfect all in one
Purchased as I wanted a mouse and keyboard combo for a media PC that was connected to my TV on the other side of the room. Bluetooth is brilliant and the added backlighting makes it idea for watching content at night, as you don't have to keep getting up to type or move the mouse or turn on the light to see the keyboard. A few snags, when placing the USB receiver avoid placing it at the back of the PC as this severely impacts the bluetooth range. Another issue is that you can't effectively speed type as the keyboard can sometimes fail to register key presses. Over all brilliant for a small compact all in one with very good battery life even with the backlight on and the added mouse click button is a very nice touch.

A great product but with some faults
Lovely keyboard but with an issue and an omission. The good news is that it is lightweight, easy to use in the dark as all the keys are backlit and the keys are responsive when typing. The touch pad itself is an absolute pleasure to use. Very responsive and better, in my opinion, then the logitech I use with my laptop. The bad news is that I feel like I have to use a sledgehammer to get the touch pad (left & right) keys to respond (it may just be the unit I have). I had to revert to using a mouse and that is what I hoped to avoid, especially as I intended to use the keyboard while sitting on the sofa. The other thing that I did not like about it is that there is no way of telling if it is charging or has fully charged. I thought that with all the lit keys one could have doubled up as a charging light. I took off a few stars because I felt let down by what could have been an excellent product. Can't send it back because I threw the box away. I would recommend getting one but do check it out properly in case the touchpad keys are a manufacturing issue.

Frustrating
No drivers for Win10; appalling battery life; sluggish. Have had this keyboard about a week now and the frustration has mounted to the point where I have returned to my previous Logitech KB. There are no drivers (for any OS on any platform) for this device; it's sluggish, there is no pointer acceleration, so moving around the screen can be a slow and annoying affair, but worse when trying to scroll down a long web page, both things would be easily rectified by drivers; zoom function doesn’t work at all – again DRIVERS. The battery lasts a couple of days before (again) the touchpad has issues and stops responding... the low battery light clearly doesn't have enough juice to work (d'oh!); charging with the ridiculously short (even with included extension) cable is too frequent. Finally, the touchpad doesn't have physical buttons on it, favouring the ‘buttons’ being integrated with the touchpad itself, although there is a physical left-mouse button on the top left of the keyboard. The problem with this, is that dragging and dropping single-handedly is literally impossible; and I have found myself having to retrain my brain that right-clicking doesn’t ‘click’ on the this touchpad. This keyboard has some glaring problems, which is a shame as it looks and feels really nice to use (when battery is at full power), it just strikes me as all style with little substance. On the upside, it’s a good weight, and is handy in a darker room (the reason I wanted a backlit KB), but alas the cons far outweigh the pros and I will be sending this to Silicon Heaven (where all the little calculators go when they die).
