Holds much better than stock
Lock washers sent with kit were garbage. Product came assembled in box and one had already blown open another during assembly. The throwout bearing is loud but may break in with miles. My package came with no directions and had to look up torque specs. The master cylinder is not a direct replacement for a 2012 ram 2500 and required a jumper for clutch safety switch and mounting of remote reservoir. The clutch does perform well so far but I am still in break in period and have not fully tested it out.

Quiet clutch? Loudest POS ever!
I installed a South Bend clutch in my last heavy duty truck, and I should have gone with another one instead of this. I could not imagine how loud it would be if I didn't pay an additional $200 for the "quiet clutch." It feels and grabs fine. I expected a little chatter at idle but I didn't expect it to be at every moment that the engine is at idle or below 1500RPM! Keep the revs up it is fine, but anything lower it will drive you crazy. I installed it in order to get ready for hauling a 5th wheel, but installing back in the stock clutch and keeping my current travel trailer because its such a POS!!!! Never felt the need to write a bad review before but I had to on this. $75000 truck and my wife doesn't even want to ride in it now- Thank You Valair

Not as quiet as I thought I’d be.
Works great so far. High quality materials, Just not as quiet I was expecting it to be.

Valair vs. Competition
So far, the clutch is working great. I had the same type clutch in my truck from the competition and had to remove it due to horrible noise and rattles. This quiet version from Valair is turning out to be far superior to the competition as far as noise, rattles and engagement. I'm also able to use lower rpm's now, without the transmission sounding like it's trying to fall out of my truck. With the "Other Clutch", I could not use lower rpm's and had to drive my diesel truck, pulling 18,000 pounds, like a race car. Yes, the Valair clutch is quite a delightful surprise and change.

Heavy towing
I run a Ram 3500 dually that I use to tow a 21k fifth wheel. This clutch is the only one you should consider. It's relatively quiet, grabs like stock, and will hold way more power than valair advertises.Just please make sure that you do a long thorough test drive. The number one failure on these is improper install. If it doesn't drive and shift like stock, it's not installed correctly. Minus gear rattle of course, that's normal
