Works great for my 2009 Mac Pro!
Works great! I bought a used computer sans wifi card, and I was really anxious about installing it because I've read reviews that stated in was medium/hard difficulty, but it actually was pretty quick! It took me 30 minutes, tops, after watching a youtube video.Watching a video is super helpful, but if you can't find it, these are basic instructions (for a 2009 Mac Pro Tower):1. Power off your computer, and unplug all cables.2. On a soft surface (i.e., a towel) lay the mac pro on its side: Apple logo up, base of computer towards you.3. On the back of the Mac (where are the cables hook up) there should be a vertical tab. Pull it gently, and the metal covering the side of the computer should release. Slide the cover off.4. On a 2009 Mac Pro, on the bottom left corner, there should be an opening of the inner construction. Within this opening, you'll see 3 loose cables (which should be numbered 1, 2, and 3), and a small slot meant for the wifi card. In fact, right under where the card will go, there should be "airport" written in white.5. This is the part where having small fingers/hands helps: Take the wifi card, and with the silver square up, slide it into the slot. You may need to angle it slightly to make it fit.6. Once the card is in, it will be slightly propped up. This is normal, and don't be hesitant to gently push down the slightly higher side.7. Once you push it down, you'll see that the 2 holes in the wifi card line up with screw holes on the computer. Take a tiny screwdriver, and secure the two screws in the holes. Be careful not to drop the screws! They can be retrieved, but it may be a hassle. Note: Do not use a magnet to get the screws out, as this may damage the hardware.8. Once the screws are in, you will hook up the cables (numbers 2 and 3, number 1 is meant for bluetooth, which you will not need for this install) with the gold tips. On the wifi card, there should be 2 gold circles, with a gold dot in the middle of each of them, between the screw holes - that will fit the cable ends. If the cables have plastic coverings, take them off. This part is a little tricky, and it helps to have tweezers if you have larger hands. With tweezers, grab cable #2 (not the metal!) and line it up the gold tip to the upper left circle. Gently push the tip onto the circle. Repeat with cable #3, which goes into the bottom left circle.9. You're done with hardware installation! Put the cover back on, plug in your cables/power, and turn on your computer.10. Upon starting up OSX, and logging in, a window should pop up to configure the wifi card. Click OK.11. Turn wifi on, find your network, type in your password, and you're done!

Great product for a great price. Fun installation.
I love working on computers and have upgraded tons of MacBooks and MacBook Pro's, so I was excited to do a decently difficult upgrade on my new(old) Mac Pro. It's a 2,1 and this airport card works great. Mine came with screws luckily, as I've heard some people didn't recieve them. Installing the card takes some patience. It only took me about 15 minutes as I am farmiliar with these screws and cables. But it will take about 40 minutes if you are new to this sort of stuff.ProTip: When you have the connectors slightly in place, use a flathead screwdriver to push the antenna cables in completely. Be VERY careful as to not hit your motherboard/logic board. You'll hear a difinitive and satisfying click when it's in.I connected the wire labeled '3' to the bottom of the airport module, and '2' to the top. '1' goes to Bluetooth and the wire labeled 'BT' remains unconnected. Apparently there was a mix up with labeling when these mac pros were being made. Whatever, thank the people who spent the time to figure this **** out.Once installed, I had to mess with the system preferences a little bit to make it happy (it was saying connection failed when I attempted to connect to my wifi network)After some messing about, I got it working, and now it functions fantastically. Thanks again to the seller. To all the buyers, look up a guide on how to install it if you're intimidated. I personally love upgrading computers, so I had fun.

Good card, difficult connections
Like the other reviewers, getting those small connectors fastened was a challenge! This is especially true if you have large hands and 60 year old eyes :-(I found that removing the fan assembly first was a big help. On a 2008 MP this is just a matter of removing 2 screws, one in front and the other in back, attached to the mother board. The fan assembly just slides right out. I also removed the hard drives in positions 1 and 2.With the fan removed there is room for BOTH hands. One hand can hold the connector in position and the other can press down once the connector is seated. This was MUCH easier than trying to do it all with one hand.I intend to attach external antennas once I get the appropriate pigtails. Amazon carries U.FL Mini PCI to RP-SMA pigtails that should do the trick. I purchased 2, sold by WIFI Expert (14 inch).I will need to drill two holes in an unused PCI cover. Two TP-LINK TL-ANT2408CL 2.4GHz 8dBi Indoor Omni-directional Antennas will screw into the RP-SMA female connectors. This should give me fairly decent reception. I'll update this review once everything is in place. But reception is not bad just using the builtin MP antennas, and I'm connecting with the WIFI router next door.UPDATE:I attached the 2 antennas as described above and got a one or two bar improvement in signal. Not bad! It makes the MP look like an old TV with a rabbit-ear antennas, but it works. It may be good enough at this point for video streaming and downloading large file. But I'm thinking I may still spring for a TP-LINK TL-ANT2414A 2.4GHz 14dBi Outdoor Directional Antenna.

Wonderful product; Purolator deliver was less successful
This WIFI adapter worked perfectly the first time it was installed. Installation was a bit finicky because of the confined space that Apple developed with the Mac Pro computer. The item was shipped promptly and has proven to be well made and well executed. The local Purolator courier failed to leave the package at my home, despite there being no need for a signature. It was necessary to collect the item from the distribution office in Richmond. The courier should be encouraged to complete a delivery that has been paid for.

a good long pair of tweezers and lots of patience
Card arrived as described with 2 screws, wrapped in bubble wrap and antistatic plastic bag. Card was installed and so far works. No instructions on how to install it was included though. Do not attempt to install this unless you have a magnetized #1 Phillips screwdriver, a strong grip, a good long pair of tweezers and lots of patience. An assistant would be helpful in some cases. Not recommended for those with short tempers or who are not comfortable digging inside their Mac Pro computers.

AirDrop works Mac to Mac only
Added wifi to my old Mac Pro running OS 10.10, install was fairly easy. It doesn't support airdrop between iOS and Mac, which is a little disappointing as the ad states it "supports airdrop". Airdrop does work Mac to Mac with this card, so the ad isn't outright lying, but I assumed Mac to iOS would have worked given the software supports it. Therefore it is a limitation of the hardware in this card. All in all, if you want your Mac Pro to have internet wherever you have power to plug it in, this is a decent buy.

Works Great! Now Finally I can connect to the internet ...
Works Great! Now Finally I can connect to the internet from the rooms in my house where I don't have wired outlets.Installation was difficult. I tried following the directions provided but found it too hard. Getting the card in its slot was easy but connecting the wires to power the device was not. There is not much space for your hands to connect the tiny wires. My hands kept blocking my view. However, once I decided to make space by removing everything in my way it was simple. I love this product.

Should of added this sooner!
Works like a charm in my early 2008 Mac Pro. It is a bit of a challenge to get it installed, ( and they warn about this) only because of the size and space that you are working in. A little difficult to find the antenna wires but be patient and gentle and it will not be an issue. Works great and good instructions for installation. I did also reference a youtube video before I started.
