Update:After a spate of disappointing discs, was grateful to receive 2-CD Collection. “So much funk, so little time!” Fidelity was genuinely palpable; clear timbre, good space and depth, and at times, tangible bass. (rare in recent remasters) Actually, only a lack at times of dynamics and realism prevented a higher rating.Recommended!

This CD has most of the Ohio Players best songs, it has mostly songs from their later Mercury years. Nothing from their earlier years with Westbound Records. Still this collection has long versions of Love Roller-coaster, Sweet Sticky Thing & Skin Tight. Ohio Players are one of the many funk bands coming out of Ohio, and you won't be disappointed

Bought this after reading Morris Day's autobiography. (Morris Day fronted the band The Time, who starred in the movie Purple Rain). Morris Day spoke about how the Ohio Players inspired them when they were youngsters. I have been an avid fan of Prince and The Time for over 35 years and thought I would give this a shot. Buy it, you will not be disappointed. The musicianship is awesome and the songs are pure 70's soul/funk. If you love the genre then this is a worthy addition to your collection.

Ohio Players stood above all in being the swingiest jazz p-funk innovators.Tracks such as:Fire,Jive Turkey,I Want To Be Free,Fopp,Sweet Sticky Thing,Who'd She Coo?,Far East Mississippi will stand the test of time.The remaining tracks reflects their restless need to be unique---an acquired taste which some like myself never tire of.

Cd's are great but the case (a double transparent one ) was damaged Doesn't hold the cd's anymore
