Good replacement item
On my old oil fill cap, the gasket just wasn't sealing anymore. The oil film in the valve covers was always attracting dirt. The tighter the engine, the longer it will last. This unit shows no oil in the valve cover.

Sbc oil tube cap.
This is the cap that will cap off the oil fill tube on your 283 and 327 engines, i lost my original one which didn't seal well anymore, and this one fits tight, seals perfect, and best of all you dont have to smell oil vapors coming from the tube, plus it looks totally original!
