IRWINTools Rafter Square, Hi-Vis, 12-Inch (1794467), Orange

I should have read the reviews closer on this square. No where in the listing can I find that is made of plastic. There are some advantages to being made of plastic, but I was expecting metal. Since using it for several days I find I like the light weight, high visibility, and it is sturdy enough to last as long as an aluminum one and this one will not rust or corrode. After using it for a few days it is still square with my steel framing square. If I ever need to replace it, I'll buy another of these.

Fairly inexpensive, this is a necessary tool for any carpenter, woodworker, DIY person. It's plastic/resin, so it;s lightweight. Not convenient to carry, but large enough (and orange in color), so you can't loose it easily.I use this to scribe lines, a fence for circular saw crosscuts, checking if things are square, etc.I do not put it away until the end of the day - it gets used that much.Should last for a while. It's plastic - so it;s not going to last forever, but a metal one would be too heave to be convenient.

Perfect square. I have had the same thing for years and just noticed it had a slight crack. I bought another on Amazon at a smoking price and gotta love prime shipping. It has been a great tool for marking all the 2x12 lumber for my new pole building. A metal one might last longer but I have abused mine and it is still going strong, crack and all.

This is simply a LARGE square. I like that it is highly visible in my shop and that I can now mark wood that is as wide as 12" without having to move a 'normal' square from one side of a board to the other. This may not be a precision tool, but for its purpose it is quite adequate.

I thought it would be to big, but it's turning out to be incredibly useful. Love that there is no notch in the corner since I use this for woodworking and not carpentry.

For the price, great plastic tool. PLASTIC being the operative word, it is not a strong metal or wood high quality tool, but a cheap useful well designed tool consistent with its price.

Checked with my metal square. It's fine, although I wouldn't use this to cut square for furniture grade build. My only complaint is the narrow slots. Makes hanging on screws harder.

Me gusto mucho, se ve la calidad y precisión. De la resistencia, como la cuido mucho, no se me ha caído al piso, tampoco deformado, no la e pisado con el pie por accidente.

Brilliant use it always, really solid and durable, light weight too.
