Coming to you from Ninetoes Loves Books Headquarters. Today, I have for you a review of DCeased. I have coffee in my system and my thinking cap on, so let’s get to it! When I was a kid, my father bought me a stack of comic books. This was my introduction to the vivid world of storytelling that went straight to my heart. I even remember the titles: Spider-man, Captain America, Batman, Superman, The Justice League of America, and Sgt. Rock. Now the impact of this is two-fold. One, money was really tight back then. Two, Dad loved me enough that he spent a buck fifty on me. There were times after that he would take me to where he got those comics and let me pick out some. I always went to the groups, Justice League, Justice Society, Avengers, stuff like that because I got to see all of my favorite heroes and not spend a ton of money. Fast forward to today, and the kid in me still loves to get comics, but I wait for the graphic novel-bound edition of the stores to come out, and I wait for those to go on sale. Recently, I came across a book that intrigued me, DCeased. The zombie apocalypse came to DC Comics! At first I thought, “Oh, great, let’s do zombies…yawn.”, but I still got the book. Let’s face it, Batman as a zombie on the cover is intriguing. What brings about the end of the world? A mathematical equation and the internet. Seriously. Cyborg is on Apokalips, the home of Darkseid, and is infected with the Anti-life equation, and when he is returned to Earth, the equation gets into the internet and anyone looking at a cell phone or anything having to do with the internet and a screen is immediately infected. The effects are immediate, and even superheroes are subject to this disease. As in typical zombie stories, a bite is all it takes, such as with Batman, when he is attacked by the “Bat” family. Soon, all hell breaks loose and everyone is at stake. When the protectors of the earth become super spreaders, no one is safe. I will admit I was skeptical, and I got this book on sale. My skepticism was put to rest when I saw the art. The art is spectacular! It took my breath away, especially when it got down to blood guts and gristle. No punches were pulled in the art department. Then the story got my attention. It was a new way to spread the zombie virus. As much as there is terror, there is some humor, and when it hits you cannot help but laugh. another refreshing aspect is the use of heroes and the heroes themselves. It is a kitchen-sink affair of heroes, everyone from Superman to Booster Gold to Big Barda. This book collects DCeased #1-6, and DCeased: A Good Day To Die #1. It is the first collection of five, and as it stands I will be getting the rest of the books. It will take some time, but I will be getting them. I give this book 5 Bookmarks out of 5 and a very Happy Halloween! Happy Reading. Review: Fantastic story. Fantastic Artwork. Fantastic Ending - None of the images are spoilers there all cover variants for the book paperback/Hardcover!!! Except the first one thats just some kick ass artwork i wanted to show. Everything about this book is great. artwork is amazing. I loved the story and they made a unoriginal idea of zombies very original which i really appreciated. Ending is also Very good and intense. There is also some bonus content after the story which includes Dceased homage movie varient covers, some cool ass artwork of characters in the story, and the Original Dceased pitch and series outline. I love everything about this book and its definitely one of my all time favorites.

Dark, depressing, and very exciting
This was a wonderful story, very disturbing but a great twist on the usual zombie stories. What happens to the heroes and what they do to survive is very exciting. The wins and the sacrifices are written well and overall it shows the heroes being heroes and doing everything in their power to save the world.

DC does it better.
These zombies don't talk, like in Marvel Zombies. They are brutal and unyielding. A very cool and interesting take on the zombie apocalypse trope. The artwork is really good here. Very expressive and horrific, by the great Trevor Hairsine, written by Tom Taylor. This book sets off a longer story/narrative. It can be a stand alone, but you will want more. And the idea for the cause of the zombie apocalypse is really clever and fits the DCU so well. This is outside of continuity, of course, but such fun.

a blast from start to finish
Tom Taylor has so much fun playing with alternate dc worlds. This is a zombie story but not quite. Done in only the at dc could. Great art and fun the entire ride!
