Product Description In small towns, and along America's back roads, treasures are waiting to be uncovered valuable relics from our history that are hidden in junk piles, buried in barns and stacked in garages. It takes experts to find them - and turn rust to riches. AMERICAN PICKERS follows two of the most skilled pickers - Mike Wolfe, owner of Antique Archaeology, and his business partner, Frank Fritz - as they hunt down objects with historical, collectible and pop culture value that have been long forgotten by their owners. Along the way, they meet people whose own stories open a window into American lives and history. In AMERICAN PICKERS: VOLUME 3 Mike and Frank explore a century-old amusement park, pick their way through a geodesic dome and after years of begging, finally allow Danielle to get in on the action. .com Fans of the History Channel's compulsively watchable American Pickers won't want to miss these eight episodes of Mike and Frank on the road to find gold dust among America's trash. To be clear, this set contains eight hour-long episodes from the second season of American Pickers; it's not season three. But it's still great entertainment value for the buck. These episodes find Mike and Frank wandering the back roads of the middle of the country in search of buried (in some cases, truly buried) treasure to resell. The stars are collegial and always friendly and respectful of the folks with whom they deal, which is part of the appeal of American Pickers. Like its slightly more upscale cousin, Antiques Roadshow, it ends up being heavy on the interesting arcana of history, and of what Americans just love collecting. Some of the more memorable pieces in these episodes include a skeletal military "training gun" from 1919--an amazing contraption twice the size of a regular rifle so that a sergeant could easily demonstrate its loading and firing to new soldiers. Other treasures include a working slot machine, and the always-popular metal oil-company signs Mike and Frank live for. (Don't mention the vintage Honda that got sold just before they arrived to check it out… it's still a sore subject with Frank.) As always, this set of episodes of American Pickers gets the viewer wondering just what his or her own junque might be worth--and also ends up teaching a lot about American history, through its old memorabilia. OK, time to hit the road! --A.T. Hurley

Adventure through the junk of America's Rusty Gold
This is a fun series. Mike and Frank travel around the country (and world in season 7) to find "rusty gold" that they can resell for a profit to collectors who often re-purpose the finds. The first two seasons are available on DVD sets, but starting with season three, they are available from Amazon. We've visited the store in LeClare and spoke with one of the people who have appeared on the show. The pickers have to scramble to stock the three stores involved. Mike owns the one in LeClare and the one in Nashville. Frank owns his own store in Savanna, Illinois, about an hour or so north of the quad cities area. So each picker is acquiring stuff for his own store. There are currently 10 seasons and all but season 8 and 10 are complete and available through Amazon. Season's 8 and 10 are each missing one episode, so it is no bargain to buy the individual episodes. Even then, the show is a lot of fun and you get to see a lot of the country.

Fun show, fun guys (and girl)
These guys make this show a lot of fun to watch. They are not over the top or anything, not trying to be the next big thing, just a couple of regular guys, with a few odd quirks (as we all have) traveling the countryside trying to buy stuff that they can resell for a profit. This is the realest of the auction, buy/sell reality shows and pretty entertaining. It makes you want to try your own hand at buying "junk" and reselling it.

Love Mike & Frank but...
Whatever History A&E is doing, they're really messing up the order of the shows. Only 2 Discs:From 2010: Disc 1: Hobo Jack/Laurel & Hardy/Frank Flips & Mike's Breakdown. Disc 2: Pint Sized Picker/A Nanner Pick/Danielle Goes Picking & What's in the Box?/Have'nt ordered Volume 4 yet because once again V.4 has only 2 Discs & stuck on 2011's just like Pawn Stars. I've tried to email & write them but get no replies. Stay tuned...

As good as ever!
This season of American Pickers was shorter than I remembered, however that doesn't detract from the quality of the episodes. This season the guys continue their adventures further from home (Iowa) going on picks in Florida and Texas, as well as several other locations, and come up with more unique antiques. The crossover episode featuring the Pawn Stars' Rick Dale and American Restoration, feels a little forced, but it was interesting seeing the people from 2 of my favorite shows interact. The show keeps it's healthy mix of reality TV and history lesson, and as always seeing the unique personalities of the collectors is always a treat. Overall great season, just a little on the short side.

American Pickers Rock!
Love to watch the older shows, even though they are on a repeat loop on History. Frank and Mike always find such interesting garbage. Sometimes I just can't imagine anyone wanting to buy the trash they find when they are rummaging through the old barns, etc. You just keep watching to see what that big pick is going to be!!

need to release all 7 season in DVDs
I would buy all 7 or 8 series if they were available. People in the country don't have high speed internet to buy your on demand videos. Your missing a lot of potential business. I have season 1-4 but would buy the rest if DVDs
