so far so good
I ordered the black paw print for our large dog. I was not sure of the paw print because there were no photos of it, but I am very pleased with my choice. I will post a photo of it for those curious of this tag. I only am giving 4 stars and not 5 because the print did not come as I requested-they printed what I wanted, just not where I wanted it. I asked in the gift comments section, for two lines on the front and two on the back, but it came with all on the back. I do not know why they put it all on the back, but I ended up liking it all on the back anyways. His name is nice and big, and the other three lines are smaller than the name but it fit my number and address nicely. The engraving looks great against the black and there is no issue reading it. We had it on him for a few weeks now and still looks brand new. I would definitely buy another if we ever needed it. Oh and it did come with a small ring, but I had some trouble getting it onto my dogs large collar--this collar ring is thick. I did finally get it on there and it is fine now. I probably would have used a bigger more durable ring if I had one, but this one seems to be fine--however if it does have issues, I will post an update.

At the end of the day, this deserves the 5 stars.
1st things 1st. This was purchased to be a (?)pendant for my Maggie girl's - a dachshund - urn. So the durability will undoubtedly be longer than mine. Lol. I received the tag 7 days after ordering. Personally, I think this is a great turn around time since this is not a pre-boxed, ready to ship item. Overall, I'm satisfied with the quality of the product.I got a small black tag. The engraving was well done & "popped" against the black of the tag.The 1st line was her date of birth - easy to read. The 2nd line was her 1st & middle name - again, easy to read. The last line was the date of her death. If I did not know that the last line was the date of her death, I would have needed a magnifying glass to read it!I did look closely at the tag. There is room for the third line to have been made a little bit larger. The approximation of what the lettering on the tag will look like is VERY misleading! I know what approximately means. But the approximation does not represent the tinyness of the 3rd line! The 3rd line is about the size of the superscript on a size (?)12 Century Gothic font. maybe a skosh larger or smaller.Don't use the third line if you want more than a phone number & your furbaby's or your name on the small tag. I will be ordering a large tag with the hope that the 3rd line will be readable without a magnifying glass & the size won't overwhelm Maggie's urn. They don't engrave on the back. If you want engraving on the back, look elsewhere.Once again, I am overall satisfied with the quality of the product.

Precisely what I was expecting, and an excellent price
This is well done and an excellent price for the product and service. It was shipped three business days after I ordered it, and I received it two or three days after that (the week was rather hectic and I do not recall precisely). Great turnaround, great work, great product.I got the plain silver tag. I happened to have blurry vision when it arrived (minor eye injury--as I said, hectic week) and I was still able to see the engraving clearly, even though it's not a different color from the tag itself. On the back of the tag I had them put his microchip ID number, so there are quite a few digits on that line. The text is necessarily small, so it all fits, but still clearly legible.I note that some reviews complain that the tag is not really engraved. This is obviously engraved; you can feel it if you run a fingernail over it. I am perplexed that anyone could hold one of these in their hands and think otherwise. It's not the kind of engraving or stamping that you'd get on a thicker material, like plastic or thick brass or military dog tags, the kind that gouges deeply into the material. But I didn't _want_ a thick/heavy/bulky tag; I wanted a lightweight tag with clear wording. This is a thin piece of aluminum that will suit my small/medium dogs well. The laser carving is an entirely appropriate depth for the thin tag material. Since it is aluminum, it should be pretty durable even with the thin material and the engraving at this depth.I'm going to hang them on "Coastal Pet Products Ez Change ID Clip"s, which are about 7/8" long and about 1/8" thick wire and juuuust fit through all my various tags for the dogs. At 7/8" it's a good drop for a small/medium dog, and only lightly longer than the horrible small split ring that always seems to come with an ID tag.I've also found that standard "key collars" (the colored bands you can put around the head of a key to identify them) fit nicely on a 1 1/4" round dog tag--this manufacturer's "small"--to protect the surface a bit, but mostly to help reduce jangling. There are also large key collars that would probably fit on round larger-sized pet ID tags, but I kind of doubt they'll fit any shape besides round. All I could find on amazon were key collar multi-packs of assorted colors. But there are sites where you can order one or several key collars in specific colors, and of course there's always the key section at the hardware store.

Can't be beat for the price
It's not the best quality in terms of durability if you have a very active pet that plays rough and is always outdoors, but for the price you cannot expect better. The seller got the text exactly as I wanted, in terms of both capitalization of words and which lines go where, and the tag is very light so it won't be a bother to your pet. After a several weeks, however, there are minor scuffs and scratches on the face, and much more on the edges, so much so that the color has started to come off (I bought the round blue ones).Nevertheless, the engraving is still very legible and doesn't seem like it will scratch off, and the blue color on the faces is still intact. The tag also hasn't fallen off the collar to which I affixed with the supplied ring. There may certainly be better quality tags, but they are most certainly more expensive. In the meanwhile, this one does the job just fine for much less.
