I first discovered mitmita at a few of my local Ethiopian restaurants. I enjoy it over Gomen aka collard greens y’all! I seem to have developed an addiction because I sprinkle it on everything I can think of lol! This is my first purchase and let me tell you authentic is an understatement! This spice is delicious and just the right amount of heat for me! And their service (enter a bunch of hand clapping emojis but jic you can’t see them, I thought I’d write it out) is AMAZING! I just had to write this review to let y’all know this is the real deal! I should have ordered the large size!

Mitmita - We tried this on beef, rice and beans dish, and pasta. We love the flavor, but we find it hard to describe; it adds richness yet remains bright. Be warned, though - it IS hot! A little bit goes a long way. We like that! but recommend a little experimentation to find the right level.We'll order again.

Had the pleasure of trying the real thing from Etiophia before when my buddy's mom brought him some. This is very close and makes meat very delicious! Thank you.

It was my first time making it. I usually have to drive about one hour or more to get good kitfo. This time I wanted to try making it myself when I need that craving satisfied. Since my doctor told me I have to eat less carbs and more protein, this is my favorite way of doing that! The bottle arrived well packaged and in excellent condition.The spices are not clumpy which means that it is sealed and packed very well! I like that you can send it back for a refill. Very proud to see it is run by women owners! I love the Ethiopian culture.Now to the taste! Oooh it is really hot!!! I can only eat a little but I used very generous amount in almost 1lbs steak and I know I can make so many more kitfo to come. I was worried because many recipes ask to salt the beef but I wanted to wait until I tried it to do that. It didn’t need any salt at all and seasoned my kitfo to perfection. So remember, when you use this you don’t need salt especially since your butter or ghee might have salt in it also.I am so happy right now. አመሰግናለሁ

This blend is NOT as spicy as a Mitmita should be. However, my biggest problem with this blend was not the lack of heat, but with the seriously overly salty flavor. I can always add hotter chiles into the mix to suit mine & my friends’ tastes, but there is no way I can remove the salt…. AND due to this excessive salt, I had to throw this blend into the garbage.
