Great Price for a Decent Mixer
This mixer is a good buy. I find it to have sufficient power and I like that on low speed it is markedly lower. So many of the cheaper mixers have speeds that are hardly distinguishable from other speeds. A nice plus is the mixer can be stood up on its end. That is a very handy feature. It does come with a storage box that holds the mixer and the blades but I chucked it. I keep my mixer in a drawer and don't want to bother with the box. It operates smoothly and seems to be of decent quality and how can you beat the price? I consider it to be a good buy if you are looking for a simple but efficient mixer.

Great First Mixer
This was my first mixer. I was inspired to get a hand held one after seeing it on Paula Dean's show and noticed how versatile it was compared to the counter top kind. It comes with two types of beaters. One that is a whisker and the other two are your standard kind. It has halved my preparation time for baked goods and I also find it useful for other miscellaneous things while I'm cooking as well. I also comes with a storage unit on the bottom where the beaters can be stored as well as the instruction manual. This was really helpful! It also made it more compact and easier to store under the counter top. The beaters themselves are really easy to clean and have maintained their shape despite heavy use. They are also much longer than my roommate's Sunbeam mixer which makes it handy to mix in a deep bowl. There are numerous speed settings that make it helpful for perhaps cooks with a higher range of mixing needs. I mainly put it on the low to 2 setting to mix dough. I think I may have brought it up a couple speeds higher to make mashed potatoes once. One thing I highly do not recommend if you want your mixer to last is to put it on a higher setting while you're mixing very viscous substances such as cookie dough or anything really thick and sticky. It can overheat your mixer. I mainly keep it on the low speed because it is easier to control that way. I don't have arms of steel so any higher than 3 and I'm fighting to keep it in the bowl. As another reviewer mentioned (her review is what pushed me over to get this mixer), it is meant for light-duty work. It can pass off for some medium to heavy duty work but just use your discretion. Burnt smells = Not good! Another reviewer mentioned chrome flecks in their batter. I have never had this problem before. I clean my beaters in dishwasher which can't be good for the long term and have used it quite a bit. I imagine that it may have to do with contact with acidity for a long time? I will update if anything starts breaking down.

Some issues but they made it right
It's kind of the point of the product, isn't it? I mean the convenience of being able to store the beaters with the machine. However, that's not how it works, at least not in the one that I received. If the bin doesn't snap on it's entirely useless for storage. I can clearly see that the front lip on the bin is too thick to fit in the snap groove on the machine. The back snaps in fine but the front doesn't, so the weight of the beaters just pulls the back out and the bin falls off. To me this is obviously a defect in manufacturing. However, at this point the manufacturer has not been any help. I'm very disappointed in their customer service so far. They encourage you to contact the manufacturer rather than return the product to Amazon. I emailed them and their initial response was quick, within about 24 hours, maybe a little longer. They asked me to send videos or pictures showing the defect and the product. The video is too large to upload to email, even at 10 seconds. The pictures don't really show the problem. It just shows a thick lip and a narrower groove which is really hard to determine in just a picture. However, I did respond and I did send them pics and I explained that the video was too large to send via email and asked if they had a drop box or some other method of me getting the video to them. It's been 3 business days, and a weekend which I'm not counting, and I still have not heard any response. Yesterday, I followed up with plain text email just to ask if they could confirm that they received my message with the pics, in case the pics were blocked or filtered or didn't make it for some reason. Still no answer. I'm hoping to hear back today. I'll post an update to this review by the end of the week, at which point I will return the product to Amazon if I don't hear back from the manufacturer by then. UPDATE: In a last ditch effort I put in a new support ticket referencing the existing support ticket and after receiving two more completely unhelpful replies I referred them to this review so that they could see the pictures and the video and they have sent a replacement for the storage bin and it works. Not the greatest customer service for certain, but not the absolute worst.
