That series was one of the first that I turned to in the post-Fifty Shades days when I was looking to see what else was out there in romance. I credit this series as one of the ones that turned me into the devoted romance reader I am now. It undoubtedly left an indelible impression on readers, and years after its initial release, readers still list both the series and the hero, Jesse Ward, as top favorites. If you have not read Author Jodi Ellen Malpas books yet you are seriously missing out! This book was just delicious and I just lost myself in every page swooning and panting with every word! Read it cover to cover and just fell into love and lust and it makes you burn with need and want. That takes serious skill. And this author has it in spades! Shes a literally goddess bringing us book after book and characters to love and hate and you will never be disappointed in any of these books and this one was just as well written and yummy as the rest!! Keep them coming I seriously cant get enough!! Great characters, great storyline, great book. You cant go wrong buying it. My advice if you're new just get them all because you will want them. You will fall in love with the men and drool so get the tissues ready haha and make sure you have zero plans because you are gonna not want to put it down!

Absolutely lovely. Another J.E.M masterpiece. This lady has got a serious hold on me! All I needed for 5 stars was more angst. Other than that it was perfect for me!

Any Jodi Ellen Malpas book is an automatic "one-click" buy for me. She's such a marvelous storyteller and creates strong, dynamic, resilient characters who are, at times flawed, but oh so genuinely likeable. Ryan and Hannah are two such characters. She's finally free becoming a woman that she once again likes. He's world weary and done with the high drama rat race. Their attraction is instantaneous but they definitely get off on the wrong foot. It takes time and patience for the sexy Ryan to win over the beautiful but skittish Hannah and gain her trust. When you add in Ryan's daughter, Alex. A ten year old who is wise and mature beyond her years. It makes for interesting conversations and encounters. There is an element of suspense that keeps you guessing and therefore turning the pages to find out what happens next. Great reading!

I liked this book it was sweet. Ryan was an MI5 agent who retired to live the quiet life in the small town he grew up in. He intends to build more cabins like the one he lives in, in the woods. Ryan has a 10-year-old daughter who he loves fiercely, by a woman he dislikes but is determined to spend more time with his daughter despite how his daughter's mother and her parents looks down on him. As he was coming into town he accidentally hit Hannah Bright a newcomer to their small town. Hannah is a painter and owns a craft store in the small town, where she's hiding from her past. Hannah falls in love with Ryan and she's determined to keep her past a secret but Ryan is determined to uncover it and protect her from it. I like this book it was sweet. I liked how Ryan was rough around the edges but loving and loyal to his daughter, his friend and to Hannah. Thanks for the sweet read JEM🤗

I can always depend on Jodi Ellen Malpas to provide her readers with a thoroughly thought out and well written novel. This book does not disappoint. The first few pages had me squealing with delight and surprise with the reappearance of one of my favorite couples. It only gets better from there. I love all of Jodi Ellen's alphas but Ryan is one of my favorites. There is so much to love about him. He is dedicated, hard-working, loyal, funny and he knows when it is time for a change. The chivalrous, yet awkward, first encounter with Hannah is endearing, Hannah's character is a strong woman and who doesn't love that? She doesn't see herself with the strength she really has, and I loved watching her strength grow throughout the story. Jodi Ellen took the time to make her heroine believable. That's important. I never thought a scene was implausible or strained. Jodi Ellen knows how to write intimate scenes that are erotic yet unique to each couple. They are well written and interesting. Jodi Ellen's books are no-brainer purchases for me.she could summarize Webster's dictionary and make it worthy of my time. While working 60+ hours a week she provides a time worthy novel that helps me unwind from a crazy day.

Wow. This beautiful story really does leave you breathless, emotionally drained, physically exhausted and totally sated. Satisfaction is to small a word to describe this epic novel. All of Jodi males are alpha material but Ryan is not only protective , he is caring, patient, totally built both mentally and physically and is madly in love with Hannah. This time it is the heroine who is shattered and fragmented and it is the hero that is literally the glue. The story is humorous, especially the encounters with Alex, Ryan’s daughter, and the back stabbing between Darcy , Alex’s mother and Ryan. Hannah has a mischievous sense of humour also. The plots are intriguing, full of drama, emotionally charged and incredibly difficult to predict. Hampton sounds such a delightful village and is vividly described you can almost smell the atmosphere and touch the village characters. At times a handkerchief is essential also. The love scenes are not only sensuous but so endearing, romantic and sensitive that the reader feels as if they too are there. There are dark sides of life that are also sensitively described, and are totally necessary to the the understanding of why Hannah does not trust. A fabulous read by an exceptional author. We meet Jake from a previous book, and it is great to catch up on his and Cami’s development but this can still be read as a stand alone but why ? All of the authors books are outstanding and this one is equally as exceptional.

Smoking hot alpha male, fabulous heroine, nasty bad guy, delightful little country town. Loved it, and especially loved the cameos from Jake, Cami and Luce. Definitely worth reading The Protector first.

Amazing story. Beautifully written. I hardly put the book down from start to finish. This author is now on my list of favourites.

Great book by JEM . Great characters and a lovely 10 year old.The suspense I would of imagined in this book was not really there and when it was , i was skipping phrases.I was not fully absorbed by the book but still a good read .
