Nice Cutting Mat...And It's PINK!
I already own several self-healing cutting mats. One is so big it nearly covers my entire desk - I think it's 24" x 36". I love being able to create on it without having to worry about cutting the table, or accidentally getting paint/ink/glue/etc on my desk - and I love the smooth writing surface a good self-healing mat creates. The only problem? The ugly green one I have (which is black on the other side) doesn't cover my whole desk, so I'm constantly either writing off the edge or getting some supply on my table. (Tangent: Does that mean I've actually gone over the edge? More than once?!) I have been looking for another self-healing cutting mat for awhile, in order to fill the rest of the desk, but I didn't want another green/black one. Since I adore anything pink, this was like winning twice! The perfect pink hue, this mat takes cuts easily and immediately self-heals. It also provides that comfortingly familiar writing surface excelencia! The white grid lines really stand out, which makes measuring things and drawing straight lines incredibly easy. (I am awful at drawing straight lines - even with a ruler.) This arrives with a sticker attached to the top that folds over and also attaches to the other side. It is pretty easy to remove the adhesive, but you will probably find a minimal amount of Goo Gone or Sticky Stuff Remover to be helpful in removing the slightly sticky film that remains. It's hard to describe - I didn't have any trouble removing the large tag, it removed cleanly, but it left behind an oddly tacky film. Not problematic enough to ruin your day (or even prompt second thoughts about purchasing this mat), just something to be aware of.Working on a self-healing mat just makes everything so much easier. Your handwriting will improve dramatically when you write on this - pens you didn't care for (or refused to work) previously, will suddenly become your favorites. The very best thing about this self-healing mat - well, besides the fact that it's pink? Is that the material heals well and you have two sides to work on. So you can make one side the side you use when doing messy activities (painting, gluing, etc) - then flip it over when you are going to use it as desk protector, so that stays clean and pretty. I've used self-healing mats for so long that I can't remember life without them! I am also very fond of Vyco, which is an amazingly smooth and cool self-healing mat/protector you can apply to your work surface. I actually prefer Vyco, but it's kind of permanent - and one thing I love about these mats is their portability. Vyco just attaches to the surface with a special double-stick adhesive, and can easily be cut with scissors or an Xacto to perfectly fit the contours of your table or desk. There is nothing like that flat, smooth surface - the expense is greater, though. Then again, the Vyco lasts a really long time before you replace it. It comes in gray/cream and green/cream - your choice which color to have face up. If you're interested, you can find it here: Alvin Home Indoor Office Craft Art Draft VYCO Green/Cream Board Cover, 31 x 42 Inches Sheet (VBC44-5) . Whether I decide to install Vyco on my table or desk again remains to be seen...but everybody better keep their hands off my pink mat! :)

Lovely pink color!
I bought this cutting mat because I love the color! I haven't cut anything on it yet. But i like it a lot already! It fits nicely on my table and it's double sided which is nice. My only complaint is that it has some minor imperfections like tiny dents here and there. Thankfully they're not too noticeable. The sticker label was a bit troublesome as well, it left behind some really sticky residue that takes some effort to wipe off. There's still a bit of residue and my arm keeps sticking on the mat so I need to wipe it off even more. Other than those things, it is a nice product.

If mat is made to lay flat, don’t ship mat rolled up!
Being that it was named American Crafters was misleading cuz it came from China. It was delivered in a box with the mat rolled up and a sticky label on it. I would’ve paid a higher price for a USA made mat and shipped in a box that fits the mat flat and secure. The mat seems of good weight and pink color is nice. Haven’t checked the measuring marks yet.

Not 18" by 24"- but well made and a nice mat
It is NOT 18" by 24" as the main description says! It's a nice, well mad mat. It's heavy and the lines are easy to see-/ however if you want an actual 18" by 24" mat- this is not for you. If you read the actual product dimensions (Like I wish I would have) it's actual cutting area is 17" by 23".

Nice mat didn't like the packaging
Like the mat however it was folded over in the box and hasn't settled Down flat. Hoping it does.

Cute but not durable
The quality of this mat is not up to par with others I've gotten. I used it for two weeks for my sewing business. It was very cute but started peeling apart worse than a rotary mat I had used 2 years!! I wouldn't call it self healing. I'm returning it. It was super cute but if you are a heavy user of sewing I do not recommend this brand. Stick with the original brands!!

Excellent quality
This mat is thicker than others I've owned. It has a good feel to it and self-heals well too. I'd recommend to all crafters.

not quite accurate
It is an outside diameter of 18x24 but the actual cut lines are 17x 23. It is still a nice product and well made.
