Helps me keep my feet and legs comfortable
I recently started working from home so I am at my desk for much longer periods of time now. At my last job, I would have to get things from the office printer, attend meetings, do filing and just generally be up and moving more. With my new job, I noticed that my feet were uncomfortable just on the ground, and my legs would be a bit stiff from sitting all day, so I thought I better do something about it. So, I started digging around. I ran across some other reviews of the ErgoFoam Foot Rest and decided to try it. I have been using it for a while now and thought it was time to give my opinion on it. PROS: 1. The exterior cover is very, very soft, and cleans easily with a hand vac, if needed. Sometimes, my cat will sit by my feet, and I have been able to get her fur off easily. It is not a high nap on the fabric, so cleaning has been a breeze. I have not spilled anything on it, so I cannot say how it will respond to a spot cleaning. 2. The memory foam is firm but not hard. It has maintained its shape very well. It is comfortable on my feet, and sometimes, I will cross my feet and rest my ankles on it because it feels good. 3. It rocks back and forth. This was my main purpose in purchasing this item. Since I need to move my legs more, I just flip the cushion so that the rounded side is to the floor, and rock my feet from front to back. That works wonderfully. The flat base of each cushion is covered in a different kind of material that has little nubs or beads on it. They felt a bit weird the first few times I used it, but I am completely adjusted to it now. It lets me grip the cushion a bit when rocking my feet from front to back. If I spend some time every hour that I am at my desk rocking my feet by using my leg muscles to circulate my blood, my legs definitely feel better at the end of the day. That, in and of itself, made this a good purchase for me. 4. It is adjustable. This part was a really big deal for me. Based on the height of my desk at home, it is really helpful that I can take off one section so it is not so tall. It fits better under my current desk, but if I get a taller desk, or if I even feel like having a greater range of rocking, I can just zip the second layer back on. 5. The quality of the material used and the construction itself seem good. I have not experienced any wear or breakdown after several months of use. The seams are sewn well and are not pulling apart or loose. The zippers glide easily. CONS: 1. I am a tight-wad, so paying 40 bucks for something just to put my feet on was hard to do. Luckily, there was a coupon available on my purchase, so that made it easier. 2. The two sections are held together by 4 pieces of velcro and a zipper on one side. There is probably a completely valid reason for doing it this way, but I would have preferred to have one zipper that goes all the way around and just omit the velcro. I would not, however, let this stop me from purchasing this item. Just a personal preference. 3. This one is kind of silly, but it would be good if there were more color options. For example, a neutral color such as tan or taupe, might be good. If someone has a completely white office, they might like a white one. My home office is a hodge-podge of items so style does not matter, and luckily, black is my favorite color. If and when something happens to it, and if I have not retired by then, I can definitely see myself purchasing another one. I have never used one from another manufacturer, so I cannot say if they are all the same, but I can say that I really like this product and would recommend it and would repurchase it.

The foam soaks up sweat like a sponge, which it essentially is
TL:DR; works great, if your feet sweat, it soaks in. Consider wearing slippers to prolong wash intervals! It works great as a footrest. It's very comfortable. You can adjust the height, that's very useful. I was actually using only the bottom part. It worked so well that I was always using it. However, this was my first experience with a memory foam that essentially soaked up sweat. I guess that makes it an open-cell foam; the covers are removeable and washable, but underneath, the foam was brown and dark from where my sweat was soaking in. I had to thoroughly handwash them, because they were starting to smell sweaty like a gym. That's a pretty key feature to note. This might not be a big deal if you're using it in an office where you have shoes all the time (although it will still soak in whatever else you introduce to it) but at home it's gonna have to get washed, unless maybe if you have a sideloader washing machine. The foam is somewhat fragile, I felt it tearing if I dug my fingers in too hard while wringing it out.

This is *the* best foot rest I've ever tried
I had originally wanted to purchase the mesh version, but it wasn't in stock so I went with the velvet one. Honestly, I think I lucked out because this feels so nice. I don't regret the mesh wasn't available. As you can see in the pictures, the stated dimensions are pretty bang on and I appreciate a company actually giving correct dimensions. Good on ya, ErgoFoam! Because this is the adjustable version, it comes with a 2" platform (made of same materials) that you can add/remove. The main foot rest and the platform connect with each other by way of 4 Velcro strips at each corner - the soft fuzzy Velcro parts are attached to the bottom of the main foot rest, while a combo rough and fuzzy strip of Velcro is attached to the platform (see attached photo for a better understanding of what I mean). It's a very thoughtful design by ErgoFoam to do that as it allows the fuzzy part to fold over and cover the rough part of the Velcro strips if you decide to separate the foot rest from the platform. The bottoms of both the main foot rest and platforms are covered with slip resistant micro dots to help resist sliding on the floor. Definitely helpful with hardwood floors. In researching for foot rests on Amazon, I saw that a number of other products had reviewers that were dismayed by those other products being extremely squishy and would flatten out. Not so with this product and that's a good thing! It's a firm foam with a enough forgiveness to allow you feet to sink in slightly. In one photo I'm pressing fairly firmly into the foot rest with my hand and the foot rest holds it's shape. The covers for both the foot rest and the platform are both removable as there are zippers. This should allow easy washing, but there doesn't seem to be washing instructions, though. If anything, after washing, I would not put it in a dryer because of those micro dots. Overall, this had been a fantastic buy for me. It helps with the long hours sitting at a chair doing not so fun work stuffs. Oh, and registering on the ErgoFoam website enrolls you for their lifetime warranty.

Cushion Going Strong for a Year
I've been using this footrest for a year now and it does not seem to have lost any of its cushiness. It's so thick that you probably couldn't tell even if it did a little. It keeps my feet slightly elevated and comfortable for long sitting periods at the desk. The slip cover makes cleaning extremely easy. I just throw it in the washing machine and it comes out fine every time. A little pricey for what's essentially a giant block of foam, but in this instance you definitely get what you pay for.

Love this foot rest!!! Helped solve my ergo issues with home office!!
Working from home during stay-at-home, you realize how non-ergonomic your home setup can be. I have a fixed height desk that's too high. When I do the proper ergo setup I had to raise my chair higher to get my hands into the right position with respect to my keyboard. This adjustment was necessary as my right wrist and elbow started to exhibit some pain. In ergonomics, solving one thing often leads to another problem. So raising my chair higher left my feet/legs dangling a bit. I thought it wouldn't be a big deal and thought I could work through it. Turns out it is a big deal. It seems that because my feet/legs were dangling and unsupported, like a lever through my thigh, it put alot of pressure on my sacrum/lower back area. So I knew I needed a foot rest. I temporarily had to use reams of printer paper as a makeshift solution. In the past, my office provided the cheapo plastic noisy foot rest that slid around at an angle. I hated it and never used it. So I knew that was NOT what I wanted. This item seemed gimmicky but interesting. There were good reviews, so I got it. Something to think about, I chose the one that came with the extension piece (vs. just the single curved piece) to get more options. First, this was a no brainer when, for some reason, on Amazon the combo-extension was the same price as the single piece. I'm not short, 5'10", but the flat extension piece pretty much matched the same height as the reams of printer paper I was using. So together I saw potentially three configuration options -flat extension piece only, curved piece only, and the combo together. I currently switch between the flat extension piece only to using the combo inverted, curve side down. It's very functional and quiet. The covering feels very plush. The foam or whatever inside is fairly firm to provide a solid base. On the underside, there is a matrix of rubber texture dots. These help keep the foot rest from sliding around on the carpet for me. The extension and curved piece are held together by velcro at the four corners. It looks like the covering can be unzipped off and laundered. Overall, it was a pleasant surprise and has helped me establish a fairly comfortable ergo compliant setup at home. I really enjoy using it!!!

No more hunchback
So, I have a desk job. I draw all day, and occasionally look at the odd excel sheet which hurts on a whole other level, but mostly I draw for a living. At a desk. In a very large corporate office. A few years back they did a posture analysis and had us fitted and supplied with 'personalized ergonomic solutions' Resulting in the most uncomfortable chair I have ever had. Fast forward, I noticed recently that I am experiencing some hip/back/joint/neck issues, probably due to aging and bad posture habits while working. Im turning into a human question mark and its not good. I sit on the edge of this god awful chair and as the day wears on, I progressively slump. And the worst thing? I cant hardly walk out the door at 5. My right hip, right leg - are completely numb and/or experience spasms. Finally figured out that crossing my legs at the knee was really effecting things. Hard habit to break though when you dont have great foot/floor options and are constantly sitting forward to concentrate comfortably. So I thought a footstool might help me break the habit. OMG I love this thing! Not only am I able to sit back in my chair, my feet are elevated, Im not crossing my legs and stressing my hip, and I can leave at the end of the day. Bonus? You can change things up. Flip it upside down and rock and roll. Change the height. And the covers have zippers so you can wash them. Thank you ErgoFoam! I wont be a stoopy old lady and my hip might not need to be replaced for a while.

Great quality for the price and super comfortable.
I found the ErgoFoam Adjustable footrest to be SUPER comfortable. I have a desk that has a raised height and this allows me to have that foot support I need at the chair height I use. The foam is super supportive and I am hoping that it can hold its support for at least 12 months. That breaks down to about $2.41 dollars a month in support supply I like to call it! lol pretty darn good. With the 60 day guarantee, this is was a no brainer to try out. It has been a rockstar experience thus far..only about a week in. I really hope it holds up. It feels super nice when you have your feet on it with socks. Its a really nice experience. The only thing that I did notice that was annoying more than anything is that if you have a dog or cat this thing will love the hair. It isnt a deal breaker though as it brushes off really easily. I have posted a video review of this piece on here and over on Youtube. Take a few minutes and check them out. With the 60 day guarantee, I can only hope you give this piece a try as I think you won't be disappointed. Follow up Review: The foot rest has held up extremely well over the past 6 months. I don't put my shoes on it so that probably helps keep it clean. I have yet had to wash it and I simply brush any pet hair off. The foam is still very firm and responsive. Updating star rating to 5 due to ease of keeping clean and holding up well. I can highly recommend this product.

Must Have für Homeoffice
