A wonderfully informative book, but not worth its excessively high price
A very interesting and informative read for fans of the film. My only criticism is that, for a relatively short softcover book, I think it’s $30 pricetag is awfully expensive. If you’re inclined to purchase it, I would advise that you wait for it to be more heavily discounted, like I should have.

Interesting Book
Interesting book about one of the great films of the 1980's. I would have preferred less information about the film's background, and more analysis. The Hitcher is richly saturated in meaning, and I felt the author could have explored it more deeply, especially as a ritual of initiation.

It's not even a story
Bought it because i really liked the movie and was always a fan of the series, but the first half of the book was filled with loads of bullcrap about the movie and then the story line that was badly explained.Litterally If i knew this i would've not even bought it in the first place, would even decline if it was free tbh.Basically way over priced in the first place, and then bunch on horsecrap the follows.

Short but sweet
A great little companion piece for a great classic movie! 5/5

Too expensive for what you get, but still a fascinating read
Although way over-priced, this slim monograph is a tidy and engrossing study of a sorely underrated chiller from the mid-1980s. It also boasts a number of interesting stills as well as dependably fetching cover art by Ghoulish Gary Pullin of Rue Morgue magazine fame. Clearly a huge admirer of The Hitcher, Alexandra Heller Nicholas's book will no doubt prompt you to once again reacquaint yourself with Robert Harmon's brooding and stylish picture. It will also give you a deeper appreciation of its many aspects and pleasures. Recommended, but, oh, how that price hurts!
