directions need to be read and understood, it has a danger to users in hot weather. it expands! that said, the smallest hole i filled was a 3/8 to remove concrete from metal poles so that they could be reused. i also drilled 3/4 holes to break up thin walls for repair to the unit. it works over night in cooler weather, but you will see the start of the fractures in about 8 hours. silent destruction, (apart from the hammer drill) good stuff, experiment and learn how to use before taking on larger projects.

This product is incredible and a must-try! Dexpan demolished 6,000 psi CTS RapidSet 24/6 concrete with ease. The instructions recommend using 1 1/2" holes, but I achieved these results with 1-1/4" and 1" holes. Despite my shortcuts, Dexpan delivered outstanding results! I'm a huge fan of Makita, but their demolition hammers—specifically the Makita HM1203C 20 lb. SDS-MAX Demolition Hammer and the Makita HM1214C 27 lb. SDS-MAX AVT® Demolition Hammer—presented challenges. Although rated at 14 amps, they tripped a 20A circuit breaker. To avoid this, I ensured the demolition hammer was the only tool on the 20A circuit. Using demolition hammers can be labor-intensive, time-consuming, and requires multiple trips to Home Depot to rent the tools, which ate up even more time. For drilling, I used a low-powered Bosch Bulldog Xtreme to create the holes: a 3/4" pilot hole, followed by 1" and occasionally 1 1/4" holes. The instructions advise waiting 24 hours for the stone to cool after drilling, but I sprayed the holes with water to cool them immediately—just enough to darken the walls to a gray shade with a small amount of water pooling at the bottom. I mixed the Dexpan using a DeWalt cordless drill with a $6 paint mixer attachment in a e Home Depot 2 gal. Homer Bucket (RG502HD). The smaller bucket makes it much easier to pour the Dexpan into the holes. A funnel might be needed if you use a 5 gallon bucket. Twelve hours after pouring in the Dexpan, the concrete was shattered—I couldn’t believe it! The best part? The concrete broke into large, solid pieces for easy cleanup, and the Dexpan turned into a fine powder which was easily vacuumed up with a shop vac. I love Makita tools, but Dexpan really is a game changer.

Worked great!! Mixed product to a thick pancake batter, poured into drilled holes . Checked 2 days later and had many cracks. Made removing pieces of cement much easier and did not have to rent jack hammer

The biggest drill I have is 7/8 inch that came with my Chinese hammer drill. So I drilled four holes, 9 inches deep. After about 24 hours a crack appeared and reached a width of about 1/4 inch. I had a mini excavator to use to separate the rock and it came apart. Without the machine a steel wedge might have worked. After I removed the first part of the rock, I drilled four more holes and cracked it again and now what is left is below ground level. Calculating the amount to use resulted in a lot of waste. My four holes only needed about two pounds of material. I calculated .29 oz of H2O per ounce of grout. So 9.25 oz H2O for one pound grout. The stuff is made in China and In my opinion is over priced compared to the cost of material used to make this stuff but it got the job done so it was worth the cost to me.

Magic! This stuff is amazing. I am in the process of exploding 5 Sandstone boulders. I drilled some 1.5 inches nch holes and some 1 inch holes. Mostly 1 inch. 11-12 inches deep. Pro tip: use a vacuum to suck up the dust from the holes. I poured the slurry at 4 pm at 60 degree outside and now it is 1 pm the next day. One rock split in three at midnight. The others are slowly cracking nicely. The huge one I drilled 5 holes in will take time. Cracks are developing. Next day you can add a few teaspoons of water as it starts drying. Just wow! Hard part is hammer drilling the holes. See the photos to believe it. Now I can move my dining table to this space after building a 20x20 patio. Best $50 I spent!! Funny thing is after rock separates you expect a hard cylinder but it’s just powder. I saved some in a bucket and check to see if it can be re-used! Last photos shows the powder after expansion.

Fake product doesn't do anything at all when mixed with water nothing breaks nothing demolished. Very runny and difficult to apply to holes as well. Don't buy this fraud, poor value for money. Very difficult to open.

This stuff is incredible. I was skeptical at first but am very pleased. Tried it on a basketball sized rock in an annoying place on the driveway before I do my big project. Drilled a 4” deep x1 1/8” hole hoping to just blow the cap off the rock so I wouldn’t hit it with the tractor while snowblowing. Came back next day and it was in three chunks! Very pleased. Note that instructions recommend pouring it first thing in the morning, so it has a chance to work during its “critical eight hours“ during the heat of the day. I was too cheap to buy a 1 1/2” bit, got the 1 1/8” for half the price. Seems to be working fine in the limestone I am dealing with. VERY HAPPY with this product. It is allowing me to turn a skidder trail into a road passable by cars and minivans. I have fractured a couple rocks and carefully blown the top 8” slab off others just by changing my techniques. WISH I NEW ABOUT THIS STUFF YEARS AGO!?!?! Why doesn’t Dexpan tell people about their product. BE PATIENT! Results after 48 hrs is always better than 24

I was seriously blown away by how well Dexpan Expansive Demolition Grout worked! I wasn’t sure what to expect, but even with just half-inch drilled holes, it still managed to split the rock apart with ease. Pros: ✅ Works Even with Small Holes – I only drilled ½-inch holes, and to my surprise, Dexpan still did the job. I thought I might need larger holes, but this stuff proved me wrong! ✅ Completely Silent & Controlled – Unlike using jackhammers or explosives, this method is completely non-explosive, making it a great option for controlled demolition. ✅ Doesn’t Require Heavy Machinery – If you don’t want to deal with expensive equipment, this is an excellent alternative. Just drill, mix, pour, and wait. ✅ Impressive Power – It took about a week to fully break the rock apart, but when it did, I was seriously surprised at how effective it was. ✅ Great for Future Use – After seeing the results, I’ll definitely be using this again for future rock and concrete removal projects. Cons: ❌ Takes Patience – This isn’t an instant process—it took about a week before the rock fully cracked apart. If you’re expecting immediate results, just keep in mind that it requires some waiting time. Final Verdict: If you need to break apart rock or concrete without heavy machinery or explosives, Dexpan is an absolute game-changer. Even with small drilled holes, it still worked incredibly well. It requires some patience, but the results are 100% worth it. Big win, and I’ll definitely be using it again!

I needed access to my foundation but I had a massive rock next to it (almost touching the wall). The part that is visible in the pictures that I needed to break was about to 2 feet high and slightly more than 3 feet wide. I tried everything I could think of but I only made a dent in it. I broke concrete before and it fells like butter compared to this rock. I saw the Dexpan product. I wasn't sure I really believed the results could be as good but it was my only option left. I ordered it on Amazon and the next day I rented a rotary hammer with a 1 3/8 x 18 inches drill bit (they didn't have the 1 1/2 as recommended by Dexpan). I drilled the rock and then I filled the holes with Dexpan around 7 PM. I was really anxious and the next morning, as soon as I woke up I got out to see the rock, afraid it would still be intact but a miracle happened, it was completely cracked. It was cracked all the way down to the bottom. If you follow the instructions it really works. Highly recommended product! 100% satisfied! Hopefully I won't need it again in the future but I need to, I will not hesitate to buy again.
