This is a wonderful product. The initial scent issue is easily resolved if you shake the bottle thoroughly and I mean thoroughly. I didn't do this so when I first put it on and it was so strong I almost returned it I decided to give it one more chance so the next time I used it I shook it up thoroughly and had no problem with the sent. I think what happens is that it sits on the shelf so long that it separates and the scent additive rises to the top so that's what you come across first. Maybe I got rid of most of it on the first application and what remained was just a light lovely sent for future applications? Who knows. I just shake it thoroughly each time now before using itAnd it's a light fragrance that is Really nice. You could always pour off some of the initial top section (not much) to in order to lessen the intensity BEFORE shaking it like I unknowingly did directly onto my skin when I first applied it.

I consistently use this product and I have a very fair neutral skin tone. Most other sunless tanning lotions or oils leave me very orange and uneven looking so I had stopped using them all together until I found this. I will say it’s not a product for all skin types. My skin tends to be dry so the oil base absorbs into my skin very quickly just leaving the color and shine. The main critique I’ve seen on this product is the smell however I’ve never found the smell to be very powerful. It does not have a perfumey smell and also does not smell bad and I’ve never felt like the scent lingers for very long after application. And in a final note it does have a bit of shimmer or glitter to it but it is very fine and has never offended me!

This product does nothing for a light to medium complexion black person! I was more so looking for something with shimmer almost glitter without being loud. This has NO shimmer at all. As far as the bronze NOTHING. I did take into consideration that I am already nicely tanned from sports and outdoor activities but come on, no bronze or shimmer as they call it. I was very disappointed and requested a return immediately after trying a section of my arm. (The lightest part of my arm). Perhaps a white person may have better results. I should call up a few of my friends and have them try it out. Oh well onto something else.

Lots of compliments on my tan legs (which never tan). Gives great, subtle gold shimmer--not chunky glitter. The oil absorbs quickly, no need to walk around naked waiting for it to dry. Smells like someone's Grandma's bathroom. I tried to cover it up with essentail oils and wasted LOTS of oil with no noticeable change in scent. I don't understand the flowery Grandma smell--why not coconut or something tropical? Its worth it for the look. No one has mentioned that I smell like a Grandma yet, but they are jealous of my "tan". The bottle is glass, which could be tricky with oily hands--I dropped it once on tile, but its so thick it was unharmed.

I am an Afro Woman and initially I was concerned that this was not going to show up on my skin. I also read some of the reviews regarding the smell and was a little worried. However, I decided to give it and try and am pleased with the results. If you are looking for something that is a tanner or will give you a deep bronzy color and glow, ala Melanie Mills Gleam, this is not the product for you. This adds a nice, subtle shimmer and glow to your skin without making it look oily. It is meant to enhance your color, not change it. I also found the smell to be light and pleasant. Not overpowering and perfume-y in any way. I like to mix in a few drops with my moisturizer and lotion, especially during the summer.

The scent is not at all what I was expecting. I was hoping for a coconut summery smell. This smells sweet like verging on the sickly variety! And the problem is it’s quite cloying it doesn’t fade or soften after application. The name honey bronze suits it because it does smell so so sweet! It actually reminded me of an edible massage oil I received as a gag gift! It’s s difficult scent to describe tho other than sweet. It dries down sort of powdery but it did give me a headache and that is not common as I love fragrance! I’m very fair and the oil comes out dark brown and shimmery but blends into the skin and just shows the slightest shimmer. I won’t buy this again because of the scent and I will use the bottle but likely just when at the pool or beach for the shimmer effect.

This product smells horrible like I just put it on my arm and left it there for the night and it gave me a headache. Now the amount of shine is perfect. However I am not exaggerating the smell makes you want to vomit. My husband does not like the smell either. I was going to wear it for our vacation and he stated that he does not want me wearing this at all because of the smell. Some people love it. I really wasted my money I had shimmer by olay and love spells bronzer and a moonlight shimmer they all have a light scent and more shine or just as much. I am a dark chocolate African American so its hard to find products that give you that golden look that this does so I can see it does the job as far as that golden look however I rather just be glittery with my other products rather than golden and smell bad and make everybody around me want to hurl, I am going to keep it for now and practice mixing it with other lotions to see how much the smell can be masked. I will be doing a review on youtube if I am able too or selling it on poshmark. It gets an extra star for the golden look!

This case ordered for my daughter and she absolutely loves it, I was cautious as it looks quite dark in the bottle but it is lovely on and she hasn't even got a tan yet, she is looking forward to taking it on holiday for the evenings, my guess is it will look stunning, quite a light fragrance to it and do remember to shake it really well before applying

Love this, it goes well with tan to dark skin tones. Would not recommend for very light skin. Would be nice after tan.
