One of the BEST!!!
I've been a student of meditation, yoga, guided imagery, hypnosis, and the metaphysical for over 30 years. In that time I've read, practiced, and studied. I've read books, listened to audios, watched videos, gone to conferences, and had the priveledge of taking classes with Denise Linn, Brian Weiss, Sonia Chochette, Coleen Baron-Reid, and others. I feel really lucky to have had those opportunities and I'm so glad I happened upon the book, Pineal Gland and Third Eye: How to Develop "Conscious Self" Psychic Abilities. This little book is an absolute GEM!!! It's packed FULL of really great information on the pineal gland and it's functions with regard to higher states of consciousness. The little gland is situated in the center of the brain, is no larger than a pea, and yet it can aid in the development of one's psychic abilities, help to experience OBEs, altered states, etc.. all normal states, but not neccessarily nurtured and developed in our society. The pineal gland, although seated deep in the brain, is regulated by light, regulates melatonin, and in turn aids in REM cycle sleep and thus dreaming. It interacts with the DMT receptors in the brain - which the author states is why some dreams seem psychodelic.Dr Ammon-Wexler teaches that before we can work on achieving higher states we have to have our survival needs met - which might be why our world often seems to be in somewhat dire straits. There are just too many people struggling to make it from paycheck to paycheck, wrestling with the violence which seems to be so prevalent, that they don't have enough of their lower needs met in order to work on inner states - which is where the physical body and spiritual self connects. The book details why people of the Hindu and Budhist religions often mark the spot slightly above, and in between, their eyes - representative of the pineal gland. I always thought the mark had something to do with the caste system .. and maybe it does, but it also shows reverence for the gland which leads to states of enlightenment. This book gives more exercises, links to videos, and other information than I've ever seen in one resource. It was great to get this book via Amazon Kindle for a $2.99. The price makes it more readily available to more people - which is greatly appreciated. The author, Dr. Jill Ammon-Wexler did an excellent job with this book - it's very well written, and has an extensive list of resources at the end. I enjoyed this book emmensely, and I'll be sure to read the 20 or so other books written by the author. As someone who's interested in various states of consciousness, I was fascinated by the information about the pineal gland. I look forward to doing all of the exercises, and if it's meant to be, I hope to begin the process of opening my third eye.

The Guide to a New Level of Understanding
I love reading books that dare to dive deeper than anything science has attempted to describe. With all of the amazing things existing around our universe, it is impossible to have an explanation for them all. One of the most interesting things is also one we use on a daily basis, the mind. It is one of the strongest yet most delicate organ in our bodies. The sad thing about it is, we never knew if we are utilizing it to its fullest potential. Wanting to inquire further, I decided to do my research and see if there was any way to fully unlock our mind's ultimate potential. My attention was immediately caught by this book and I simply had to purchase it right away. I couldn't wait to dive right in.The author, Dr. Jill, does a marvelous job of introducing the concept about the "third eye" or mind's eye as it is known to some people. This idea of a hidden potential within our minds is not a new one. In fact, it has existed for thousands of years going as far back as ancient Egypt and continually existing up to and through the world as we know it today. Its rich history is provided in brief detail by the author and was easily confirmed by a scientific research. Starting out this way really warms up the reader to this concept and prepares to you probe deeper than you ever thought possible. There are so many things we learn and experience throughout our years that is seems rather silly that they could be so easily forgotten. From facts we learn at elementary school to even a road we travelled through once before are lost so casually and so often that we normally don't think anything of it. Our brains are too powerful to let such knowledge go so easily and this book proves that there is much more to our minds than we can even begin to understand. At its heart, this book serves as an insightful and thorough guide into unlocking the third eye hidden within your mind. There are 15 solid techniques in here that provides something for everyone. Acupuncture may not be for everyone but there is surely something within these pages that will make you feel comfortable. That's what really makes this book shine. With so many methods to try, you can really pick and choose the ones you wish to utilize based on your experiences and level of comfort. My favorites were Yantra meditation and third eye breathing. Every technique is explained in great detail and allows for a simple and effective method of starting the unlocking process. This is a phenomenal book that will not only help increase your understanding of how the brain works but also show you the method to unlocking its ultimate potential. I've been doing Yantra meditation for a week now coupled with third eye breathing and for some reason I cannot fully explain, my mind feels a lot sharper. I'm starting to remember the littlest details from things I may have merely glanced at while walking by.Science may still try and work for years to come and may never succeed in completely comprehending how the mind works. I've given up waiting for their explanation. Dr. Jill's book is hands down the premier guide for understanding how our brains really work and releasing the restraints so that we can use all of its awesome power. This book is incredible and you will have a much greater understanding of not only your mind, but yourself as well. Highly recommended read!

Suprisingly Useful Health Information in this eBook
There is a lot of surprisingly useful information in this book about how to boost your immune system.I glossed over the history section fairly fast and went straight to chapter 2 to learn about scientific evidence. Here is what I found useful in this kindle ebook- several photos/images to emphasis a point- A link to a YouTube Video on learning more about the "3rd eye"- Information on DMT- The results of eating a naturally occurring substance- A link to the whole brain sync mp3 in the appendix- Chakra stimulation- The Crown Chakra- Teachings referring to different meditation practices- A link to chant (Om or Aum) sounds - Note: Be careful about this site, as it could install malware- Alternate Nostril breathing- Third Eye Breathing- Essential Oils- Chapter 5: Awareness- Good discussion on Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs- Chapter 7: Awareness Exercise- Chapter 8: EQ versus IQ- Chapter 9: Pineal Gland Health - I call this Immune Boosting ToolsOverall the best chapter for me was Chapter 9. There are a lot of food/drink items that humans consume without knowing the true detrimental effects.

Beware this isnt a real book - just an advert :(
I'm genuinely interested in this area and reading around a lot and with a few positive reviews on amazon I gave this a go.It's a shame amazon don't do reviews as this is only going to take you 30 minutes to read, it doesn't give any practical instruction, just an overview of different possible methods along with links back to the authors poorly made websites and blogs (oh and the youtube videos in the book are broken) - its just a salespitch in disguise where you are recommended to buy the authors brainwave mp3s - so I can't imagine this is the behavior of someone who actually has their third eye open. Also, if you don't believe me and are still curious then just google the author's name and youll see her on "rip off report" for scamming $1000s off people for law of attraction coaching and helping people to develop the "millionaire mindset" - again, is this type of rubbish really the behavior of someone with their third eye open? This book should be removed from amazon for being so poor quality and just a salespitch, I rarely ever review books but this really compelled me to write my thoughts down.

A Fresh Viewpoint
If you are at all interested in higher states of awareness and alternate realities, get this book. The author cuts through all of the usual mystical stuff around the third eye and ties it to scientific reality. I really liked several of the exercises, and am especially taken with the big toe acupressure method. I am just starting to use the authors recommended brainwave training MP3s and have immediately noticed some interesting results. 5 stars to Dr Jill and her well written book.

Useful introduction
This book offers a useful introduction to what higher states of consciousness are and techniques to achieve them. It explains in easy to understand terms the anatomy of the brain and more specifically the pineal gland and its scope of functions both physically and in relation to higher consciousness. The book is fairly quick to read too, making it accessible and not heavy and draining to your enthusiasm so you can get right into practicing the techniques which can be very enjoyable. As a long term meditator and yogic practitioner I would recommend this book as a great place to begin. Enjoy!

A dim light
The book is an easy read, but overall I found the contents a bit disappointing. It felt more of a 'feel good about yourself book', it provides only a few scant examples of how to achieve pineal activation.

Great
I found this book very interesting, and very useful, I have had to read it through a couple of times, but that is the only way I seem to be able to understand some of it, but thats just me, Its not the fault of the book in anyway. If you are interested in this subject the I would recommend it. I found it a good read and a good reference book.
