George Washington's Prayers
I am able to see George Washington's faith expressed in his own words. Skip the introductions. Read Washington's prayer diary, and you will see that he was a Bible believing Christian who trusted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Saviour. He was NOT a deist. He was a believing Christian. Don't just stop at the beginning. Read the whole diary. Our society's educational and other media has chosen to MISREPRESENT the actual beliefs of our founding fathers. That is intellectually dishonest. I was pleased to hear what Washington thought in Washington's own words -- the intro is written by somebody else, obviously.I was also fascinated by the fact that George Washington as a high level Mason was a believing Christian, and he apparently saw no clash between the two. I think that Masonry is often a reflection of the beliefs of the men who participate in it. It is, as far as I understand, an organization which welcomes men of differing opinions who choose to behave responsibly. A man should believe in a Creator God to be a Mason, but Masonry is a fellowship of Christians, Jews, and others.I know a great many people consider Masonry to be incompatible with Biblical Christianity. I see that George Washington had a different opinion. And there is no doubt at all about the depth and Biblical nature of his Christian faith. Many of the references in his prayer diary are references to the Bible's teachings. You do need to be familiar with the Bible to realize that.I have found this book to be an excellent piece of primary source material. I highly recommend it. You don't have to become a Bible believing Christian to acknowledge the fact that George Washington was one and to respect his faith. I am a Bible believing Christian. You don't have to be one to be intellectually honest about historical facts.

Fascinating look at the spiritual side of Washington
I was astonished at the personal relationship Washington had with the Creator of the Universe, as evidenced by his prayers. I knew he was a Christian, but I figured it was a cultural thing. After reading this short book, I find that he was dedicated to seeking the Lord daily for wisdom and forgiveness as a flawed human who is saved by grace.

Some good content, terrible presentation
The cover of the book is well done but you can’t judge this book by its cover. While the content is fairly interesting and easy-to-read (you’ll likely finish it in an hour or so), I highly doubt it was even edited. There are repetitive sentences, spelling errors, and it’s poorly laid out. Some sentences seem completely out of context and unexpected. Lastly, pictures were added but they have no description as to who or what they are of and sometimes are so small that you can’t make out what you’re looking at. That was such a disappointment because they could have added so much more to the book but they seemed more like filler or an afterthought. Frankly, this book reminds me of something I could have thrown together in high school. I’ll still cherish the knowledge I garner from it but will probably do a more thorough search for something with more “meat” about our first President.

This is not a biographical read
I really enjoyed this book. I wished it was more in depth with his story. It was a lot about what other people had written about him and his personal prayers. This is not a biography. Some of the prayers are so amazing and such a great insight into a founding father.

Insight
This really gave me a better insight in Washington's core beliefs. Many are fond of saying that some of founders didn't believe in the God we do...because they used terms like 'Grand Architect, etc.', in reference. But this is much like the old testaments uses for names of God. I also found it interesting how often that Washington implored his military to worship the Almighty, and set aside days for all to participate in these activities. He didn't keep his personal relationship with his God separate from his public and especially his political life (very different from today). Maybe there is a reason he is still thought of, generally so, as one of our best.

Little known facts of the father of our country.
The prayers of George Washington are truly inspirational! Great book. A must read for anyone wanting to know what importance God was to the the founding of our country, and to the father of our nation.

Washington's Prayers should be read by every American
Despite what we are fed today by our education system, Washington was a very devout Christian, and his understanding of the Christian world view shaped the nation he created.

Based on known forgeries and trying to push Christian agenda.
Not great.Once again Christians scramble to try and claim historical people of prominence as being through and through devout members of their clique. Its well known through Washington's own verified writings and speeches that he was a Deist , and more obviously holding Deist views of The Creator mixed with sprinklings of Unitarian Christian ideas. This publication makes out that Washington was a devout, through and through Christian, speaking and praying always of Jesus Christ and Christological beliefs. This is just not the real case.Washington hardly if ever mentioned Jesus or any other clear Christological beliefs in any of his writings and speeches. This book also includes the ''Washington Prayer book'' which conveniently has day to day prayers which are full of Christological fervour, mentioning Jesus, The son of God, Salvation and Israel multiple times in every prayer. This was already proved to be a fraud, Washington never prayed or even spoke like this after his very young age.
