If you like wine, this is for you!
This book details the author's journey of discovery about wine and all that entails. It is full of anecdotes about wine, winemakers, wine-inspired meals, and a whole lot more. It's one of those books that you can pick up and read a chapter at a time and then tuck away for another day. I browsed it off and on for almost a year, and found it just as enjoyable each time I picked it up. It was like a complex wine - it presented differently when I first opened it than it did when it had a chance to open up.

It is a captivating read. I love that I picked this book for my summer read. The only part that makes me sad is that I will read it so fast.

A wonderful collection of essays on wineries great and small. I enjoy savoring a chapter - over a glass of wine - on a late Saturday afternoon.

Fun read for the wine lover
Great book to read on vacation or a long plane ride. Jay Mcinerney does a great job maintaining levity throughout the book so it is informative yet unpretentious. I was jealous of the all of the amazing wines he has drunk over the years!!

The book is a collection of essays about wine, wine makers, the society of wine. It's a fun read, but if you want to learn anything about wine - this is not the book for you.

his personal story as a journalist in the wine world
It's the third book about wine by McInerney that I read. if you're a wine enthusiast and also like discovering the story of those who made the wine world in the last decades it's the right book for you. McInerney mainly speaks about California wines that I've never had the chance to taste because they're hard to find here in Italy. I really liked the chapters dedicated to italian wines.

As with any anthology of journalism, it's hit and miss. On balance it tends more to the hit than the miss. For wine nuts only.
