Vintage Mickey [DVD]

Love seeing vintage Mickey Mouse!

I purchased Steamboat Mickey for my grandchild for Christmas and thought this DVD to be the perfect accompaniment. It was a winner! She is four, so I wasn't sure she'd appreciate the archaic black and white production, but she loved it!! Selfishly, I am keeping the copy at my house, so it will continue to be a special treat for her to watch when she visits and for me to reminisce over when I need to refuel the child in me.

I am not "the film expert" nor Mickey critic but I know what good cartoon is. This collection of Walt's earlier work represented his creativity and talent in animation without the utilization of high-tech. computer animation. It is pure "old school" cartoon animation by hand! As a family, we all enjoyed the comedy and musical apects of the old Mickey cartoons. I recommend it for family viewing and for pure fun!

I really enjoy the cartoon's. I wish the Disney would be kind enough to really some more single-Disc vintage DVDs of there classic cartoon shorts.

The first cartoons are really the bestBut all of them are interestingIt’s a great piece

I am having a hard time opening it in my system. It needs instructions on how to get it to work. But when I get it working I will be very happy. I am not too tech savvy 😕

I read some negative reviews that stated this dvd wouldn't play, ignored them and bought it anyway because my daughter really wanted it - unfortunately I ended up with a copy that will not play. Waste of $$$$$

This is an awesome collection! My family and I first saw these shorts on the Disney Fantasy, so watching them at home brings back lovely memories. Fun watching my 6 year old daughter snuggled up with dad and giggling at the antics of Mickey, Minnie and co!

J'adore l'animation!

I've wanted this Dvd for quite sometime ....Unfortunately it's oop and often commands pretty solid money.Cex do it for £12 if/when they get it in.Here on Amazon it can often be found for a bit more than that- ditto ebay.I played the waiting game to get a copy and as of now i finally lucked out by getting a minty used copy delivered for £6.So I am super happy to finally have a copy at a fair price.It's amazing that Disney let this get oop - considering it's historical importance, it should be one of those cannon titles that is always available on any current format.Anyway...This just the 1 disc.Containing 9 cartoons each of which has a running time of around 7mins.It views as an utterly charming of it's time animation that is near the dawn of it's genre.Creative, imaginative, surreal, experimental and gentle.I can barely remember what I just watched right after one finishes - they're nearer to a series of little skits than they are to stories.You can see the hand in the drawings and that's really nice.The soundtracks are charming as well and a strength of watching these now is that it compliments the animation perfectly.Until Disney update this with an upgrade or newer version of this this is still well worth a buy imo.Obviously the price willing to be paid for the pleasure is relative.My tip is to add it to your basket and check back on it periodically to see if someone has a copy for a good price.It was worth the wait for me - we all can enjoy a bargain.Having to look around/wait for 6months made my viewing pleasure that little bit sweeter in the end.Thank you!",..^

Was a Christmas gift.

I was in 2 minds about buying this. I really wanted to watch the old / classic Mickey, but at the same time was worried the quality might be pretty poor on the cartoons due to the age.But could not of been more wrong. The quality is outstanding to say they were made in the 1920 & 1930's. Very very happy that I gave it a chance.
