Mesmerizing read!
This book had me on the edge of my seat quite often and had me driving my family mad with random historical facts that I absolutely could not get enough of. When the book ended I wanted desperately for there to be more. I've always had a fascination with this subject matter and the lively writing style used really helped me sink deep into this topic. I would absolutely suggest this book to anyone with an interest in this time period or the historical bases of the Merlin.

A brilliant essay in a "what if" study of a search for the literary "Merlin" in Britain and New England!
Fascinating literary search that draws in numerous ideas and writings that somehow go together. Another terrific book by Graham Phillips!

Interesting....
It got my attention and held it most of the way through. However, it left things hanging a bit at the end. We never find out, for example, who the relentless pursuers were or what the treasure or object was they were hoping to find. There are a number of other unanswered questions, which left me feeling unsatisfied at the end. Nevertheless, the author does bring the Merlin myth into historical reality and follows it to a whole new direction, combining research with detective skills to track the truth as far as he can., and it does lead in surprising directions. Worth reading, despite the loose ends.

Fascinating!
This book ties the early history of the kings of Britain to the discovery of the new world and the founding of America, and Arthur and Merlin's descendants live today as well known figures, one of whom is now in line for the throne denied to generations of his ancestors.

Interesting information on a controversial personality!
I bought this book for research on a novel I'm writing. Along with John Morris' non-fiction "The Age of Arthur," I got everything I needed on the king and his wizard. A well-written and informative book.

Heady and A real page turner
If you are into Arthurian legend, Briton-Roman history, anything Welsh, Elizabethan Conspiracy theory, freemasons, and a grab bag of other interesting areas.. this is your book.It is also a real page turner.. keeps me up late reading it almost like a thriller novel, but.. the bibliogrpahy belies an academic purpose behind the story!Very cool. One of my favorite books.

I have read many fictional stories about Merlin. Graham ...
I have read many fictional stories about Merlin. Graham Phillips has without a doubt convinced me of Merlins existence as a true historical icon. Mr. Prillips has merged legend with fact, I came away with history never learned in college..More Graham Phillips books will be added to my read list.

Totally readable and gripping
I like Graham Phillips' books and this doesn't disappoint but is far from his best. The theory really is far fetched - but worth reading anyway - and there is too much anecdotal stuff, cloak and dagger spy stuff, to make this really credible; but his books always get you thinking and imagining other worlds.
