it doesn't set the stage. I have to explain the whole backstory myself: The 'evolution' theory teaches some people are better than others, whereas God says all people are created in His image. Evolution idea causes prejudice. Blacks were sold by tribes in Africa to Portuguese then to USA and other countries. Many Americans didn't like this, it caused Civil war, with President Lincoln in charge. This led to end of slavery of blacks in USA, but there was still a great deal of prejudice in the South with people thinking blacks were lesser people. Some people were filled with hate against them. Society used segregation as the way to separate blacks and whites in the communities, restaurants, buses, etc. Then came the murder of a young black boy Emmett Till which spurred Rosa Parks to take a stand one fine day. ... You can't just pop out a story like Rosa Parks completely out of context. It won't mean much.

Fantastic book with choice photos. Tells the main event in Rosa’s life within context of oppression in the Deep South. I had to take one star away because the size of the book is way too tiny.
