Protec MELLOPHONE PRO PAC ... Got this yesterday as my original case was trashed and falling apart at the seems.This case so far seems pretty good. The horn I have in here is an olds ultratone valve/rotor G mellophone bugle. As someone else noted,it is a tight fit. My lead pipe is right up against the case. that is no biggie,I am sure if you just use it for basic storage,you will be ok. Going back to my drum and bugle corps days,I can't imagine it is any different for marching bands,a bulletproof case is a must becauseof the abuse the cases take during a season(s). If you are for some reason planning on carrying this case and are thinking of putting it underneath the bus/storage area,forget it. this is not your best solution. that's not a knock on the case. I think it is built well for its intended use.Yes,there is wood in it,but that does not make it a "hard" case. It comes with a optional sling and a nice little mouthpiece holder,which I thought was cool. It does not have that built in hole for mouthpieces like standard cases do. It has a bit of storage in the front of the case. As with any of these things,WATCH out for the zipper. I would treat it very gingerly until you get something to treat the zipper with. I have heard that you should not use anything that is a liquid. I got this parafin like crayon that I am going to treat mine with. even if you don't treat the zipper,just try and zip things slowly,especially around the corners. I have gotten compliments about this case already. It was well worth the money,super light and perfect for home use,or if you are just carrying it in your car,no problem.

A great way to protect my Mellophone

My son is in the marching band and has to carry both his French horn and mellophone to school and practice every day. His original case was so bulky and hard to carry. This case is GREAT! It’s soft-sided but also very sturdy. And it has a few storage spots in the case that my son uses for his flip-folder and other items. This case still looks like new after an entire season of marching! Very happy with this purchase.

Perfect fit for my Dynasty Mellophone! I bought the instrument without a case and needed one to protect my investment. Easier to carry vs. a hard wooden case I’ve had in the past. Would not be appropriate for drum and bugle Corp travel. Fine for someone that won’t be too rough on it. Very happy with my purchase. Even came with a mouthpiece holder and shoulder strap for easy carrying.

The school loans mellophones to the kids. My daughter got the oldest, worst one! The case was literally a massive old trunk that the stitching had worn off and she was hot gluing it back together. I surprised her with this new case and she loves it. She is the envy of the mellophone section!

Fits the King mellophone perfect, and it is much lighter to carry than the original case.

The case is very sturdy for carrying school marching band mellophone. It ha compartments for extra equipment & is easy to carry.
