Also works on an Arcade1up 4-1 Tempest Asteroids Lunar Lander Major Havoc
Works perfectly. Only took a couple of minutes to install and spins like the original arcade spinner. If you've got the Arcade1Up 4 in 1 with the original horrible spinner, this what you need!

Even better quality and easier to install than advertised.
It’s rare when a product is good enough for me to write a review. In this case, it’s absolutely good enough. I was skeptical and the spinner was better than expected! I bought an Arcade1Up unit that has Tempest and other games included. The factory spinner is simply worthless. It hardly spins and is complete plastic. I felt like I wasted my money on the cabinet! After researching aftermarket options and watching the YouTube video for this, I snagged one. It was easy to install with the video instructions and worked perfectly. It’s heavy, like I expected an arcade spinner to feel! Adjustable speed control and the fact that the grips are notched make it perfectly comfortable to play. Worth every penny!

An excellent spinner
I bought this spinner for my Arcade 1up Atari 12 in 1 cabinet, so I could play Temest, and other spinner type games. The spinner installation went well, no problems. For the Atari 12 in 1 cabinet, you will need the daughterboard to make both the spinner, and trackball useable. This spinner works much, much better than the 12 in 1's original plastic rotary switch dial. You can actually spin this spinner with the flick of a finger, and it keeps spinning for quite a while. It's very smooth, too.The default dial that came with the 12 in 1 was horrible. It clicked when you turned it, and you could feel detents all the way round. You couldn't even make the dial spin freely. Not so, with the GRS spinner. Definitely a major improvement that brings the Arcade 1up machines a step closer to feeling more like an arcade machine.Big thanks to Glen's Retro Show for this one. :)

Transformative!
I bought the original Arcade 1Up Asteroids cabinet mainly for Tempest, my favorite arcade game of that era. I was incredibly disappointed with the spinner it shipped with as it functioned more like a "knob" and didn't "spin" at all. This replacement spinner was exactly what I was looking for: has a great feel, metal not plastic and actually "spins"! The swap out is incredibly simple (although the instructions should note somewhere that the old spinner knob is actually screwed onto the mechanism, I thought it just pulled off and got lucky that it cracked/broke off before I did any damage to the cabinet trying to remove it). If you own this cabinet (or the 12-in-1) do yourself a favor and get this spinner, it will transform your gameplay experience.

Perfect for DIY Arcade (with 12-in-1 control board from tsticks)
This was perfect to use for my DIY arcade machine. I had to purchase the 12-in-1 control board for it to make it recognized as a USB mouse (you do not need this if you are replacing the spinner in an Arcade1up machine...only if you're converting it to usb for other types of setups). In that mode, it only has mouse x-axis, but that's all the spinner needs to work.I also had to crank the sensitivity up to max on the spinner's control board, but there are dip switches to do that and instructions showing the settings for each switch. For my setup, I basically just cranked the sensitivity up to maximum (all dip switches in ON position) and it works like a champ.Took only about 30 minutes to install and fiddle with configurations to get it working. The spinner itself also feels very solid. It's made of aluminum, with knurling around the circumference of the spinner, so it's got a fantastic feel and weight.

No go for the partycade
I purchased the GRS spinner after I scooped up the Asteroids partycade and unfortunately the spinner only spins in one direction. There have been some other reports of the same issue. It appears to be the pcb that's on the partycade which is labeled "trackball" and is where the stock spinner was plugged into. But I still think it's an awesome product for it's build quality and hey! It spun great in one direction, better than the stock. I'm keeping it for a future mod. Hopefully there's a fix for the partycade. Game On my friends!

EDIT: Replacement works! [Doesn't work, DIP switches unusable]
I plugged it into the 12in1 adapter board and plugged that into my raspberry/retropie setup. Didn't work there but I probably needed to configure something on the Pi. Plugged it all into my Windows PC. Detected and installed as something like "LUCKYFLY mouse". Spinning the spinner as hard/fast as I could, my mouse cursor moved about 1 inch on my 32" TV/monitor. To make sure the 12in1 board wasn't the problem, I plugged the A1U trackball into the 12in1 board. Trackball worked great. Maybe I needed to adjust the DIP switches? The DIP switches are so small I had to put on my 1.5x reading glasses to see them. Normally, I wear 1.25 reading glasses. Still wished I had a magnifying glass. There was some sort of protective? yellow film completely covering the DIP switches. I tried for 10 minutes to get off with a fingernail. Couldn't do it. Got an xacto knife and tried to scrape it off. Took another 10 minutes to get it off. I tried several different combinations of DIP switch setting. Best I got was moving my cursor 2 inches on a spin of 3-4 rotations. Movement was so slight MAME wouldn't pick it up when trying to assign to Dial input. Used trackball to assign Dial input, then plugged spinner in where trackball had been plugged. Finally, I could control Tempest with the spinner. However, 3-4 rotations of the spinner only moved the yellow-shooter thing one quarter of a circle on screen.I don't think I've ever been this disappointed with a purchase before.EDITReceived replacement today. It works! Yay! Works great! Changing from 1 star to 5 stars now!
