Enjoy clean and safe drinking water wherever you roam with the Sawyer Dual Threaded MINI, a lightweight, highly versatile personal filtration system that's ideal for hiking, backpacking, backcountry camping, emergency prepping, and more. With threads on both sides, you can screw the push/pull cap onto the Dual Threaded MINI for easy on/off functionality while filtering to control water flow. This outdoor water filter can be screwed onto most disposable water or soda bottles, or attach it inline to tubing between a hydration pack and bite valve. Weighing just 2 ounces, this tiny water filtration system fits in the palm of your hand. While small in size, the powerful Dual Threaded MINI features a 0.1 micron absolute filter that removes 99.99999% of bacteria (salmonella, cholera, and E. coli) and 99.9999% of protozoa (cryptosporidium and giardia) — exceeding EPA recommendations for removal rates. Rated to filter up to 100,000 gallons, the Dual Threaded MINI's filtering membranes are sturdy enough to withstand backwashing using the included syringe, restoring up to 98.5% of the filter’s flow rate. Perfect for adding to your disaster preparedness kit to ensure access to clean water during emergencies, the Dual Threaded MINI is great for removing harmful pathogens from residential water when boil alerts are issued. This package includes a Dual Threaded MINI water filter, 0.5-liter collapsible pouch, cleaning coupling, inline adapter, and syringe. Made in the USA. How It Works The Micro Squeeze 0.1 micron absolute filter houses a cluster of micro-fibrous tubes which use similar technology found in medical dialysis. As water passes through the side walls of the tubes, harmful bacteria and protozoa are trapped on the outer walls so you can be confident your water is safe to drink. About Sawyer Since 1984, Sawyer Products has offered the best, most technologically advanced solutions for protection against sun, bugs, water, and injuries — everything from first aid kits developed for wilderness to point-of-use water filters that filter contaminated water to levels cleaner than U.S. bottled water.

Take it from a water professional - this filter works!
This product is awesome! Use in tandem with some water puri tabs and you can theoretically treat surface water for virus and cyst removal - basically the level of purification you could expect on city water! I used this on a backpacking trip and stopped at running water multiple times to recharge my 40oz bottle with fresh water. I made coffee and dinner with this filter. The water tasted good and, with the extra puri tab, I knew I was safe due to submicron filtration + disinfection being the equivalent of water treated by a surface water treatment plant. What I love most about this product is that it will last me a lifetime - 100,000 gallon treatment capacity is INSANE. If I drank 2 gallons every day for the rest of my life, this would last over 100 years. Such good value for the money

Did not come as advertised.
I was very excited to open my dual threaded mini water filtration system just to be disappointed before evening using it once. Throughout the description of this product it states it comes with a 32 oz pouch. As you see in the picture I uploaded it is a 16 oz pouch. I know it may seem minor but the 32 oz pouch was one of the reasons I bought this product. I will reach out to Sawyer and see what they say/do.

Worked great for my gravity system
I was planning on making a Sawyer Mini based gravity filter using a regular Sawyer Mini, tubing and a threaded water bag. Then I saw this dual threaded version of the mini and got a new idea. I thought this would work easier and better than what I was planning, I was correct. This set plus two water bags is all that's needed. With the dual threaded mini and the included female / female adapter it was super easy to put together. I put the adapter on the male threaded end of the filter (the clean water side). So now you have the filter with female threads on both ends. Then you just screw your dirty water bag on the inlet side and the clean water on the outlet (the end with the installed adapter). Collect some water and then hang it up by the dirty water bag end with a bit of para cord or whatever and let it drip. No extra tubing or complexity, it's pretty light system too, I like it. Now I get filtered water while I do other things. Just don't mix up the clean / dirty bags as they will thread onto either end.You could also make a more traditional mini based drip filter by use of the tubing bib on the clean end of the filter. This was my original plan using the standard mini until I saw this. But with this filter, I would use the included hose bib adapter instead to make it quick to take apart. Either way, attach the tubing then just run it down to any container you have to collect your filtered water. You will need some extra tubing for this but it's nice that the adapter is included for making it quick to disassemble. As far as the filter performance itself, it filters without issue for me. There's a million reviews out there on the mini, they have a long track record and it's a good long lasting filter. The filter part is just the same as a normal mini but comes with extra threads on the clean end and some adapters. I got it instead of a regular mini for the dual threads as I had never seen this version before and I am super happy with it.The bag that comes with this is pretty useless to me though, only 16oz and difficult to fill if you are using it to gather your dirty water in. I would never use it that way myself, unless I was desperate. Kind of small for a filtered water bag too. Regardless of the bag volume or brand, I find they're a hassle to fill from many water sources if they only have a small opening.

His Reserve, A Quiet Defense
Do you enjoy drinking water, either for recreation or because your cellular metabolism requires large amounts of it to sustain its biochemical processes? Then you should probably have a way to make potable water by filtering out the harmful bacteria and granular contaminants. In fact, you should probably have several ways. This Sawyer filter is one of them that I can heartily recommend, especially with the new threaded design that enables easy on/off adaptation to any standard hydration pack hose. Whether amateur hobbyist or passionate professional water drinker, the Sawyer filter is a solid choice.

Five stars for the filter, none for the bag
The filter itself is pretty great. It makes mucky creek water into clean drinking water, what more could you want? Lots of included adapters/accessories, too.Easy to adapt to a quick-connect for directly filling a bladder, in-line setup, or attaches to a soda or water bottle (Lifewater or any other bottle with a soda-bottle sized cap) Be sure and follow the backflush directions for every use and test before you leave home.Unfortunately, the squeeze bag is unreliable and breaks down quickly, even with gentle use. I would never rely on it. Bring a water bottle for backup, or replace it with an evernew or platypus collapsible bottle. The Cnoc vecto is a great choice if you prefer gravity to do the work- just scoop, hang, and wait.

No clue what any of these pieces are for.
Comes in a zip-lock bag. Absolutely NO instructions on what any of these mysterious pieces actually are.I don't use any of that silly water hydration bite valve silliness, I'm not a Combat soldier. I use canteens and store my purified water in a big 7 gallon AquaTainer "Jerry can" type Water container. The Very Idea of Porting POLLUTED Water in your backpack sounds suspiciously like typical Snowflake Stupidity. What I REALLY wanted was some way to Protect the input and output nipples from shock. At least they provided a Screw on Pop Valve to protect the output Nipple on this version. But yet again, it took a YouTube Video to Identify what that thing actually was, as there were NO Clues on the Advertisement sheet as to what the silly thing even was!So - They got it MAYBE 50% correct this time. And I suppose that you could screw on one of these mysterious extensions which I can ONLY guess it's actual intended purpose to at least SORTA protect the input Nipple.I'll have to wait for the Intelligent Design Doomsday Version when some bright snowflake engineer has his once in a lifetime Bday candle lightbulb moment and decides to provide some kind of protection cap for BOTH ends while it justles around in the bug-out bag in the bed of the escape Truck!

Not used it yet, looks okay but underwhelming, one star off for mis-delivery.
The product is very small, almost couldn't see the actual filter itself. I thought they forgotten the filter and sent me a bunch of caps and plastic bottles. But I understand that the capability that is most important thing. Yet to test. One star off for the delivery, the last mile delivery man dropped it off at another apartment (on another floor), I can't understand why he would make that mistake as the label was clear.
