Good, inexpensive solution
Works as intended, but an on/off switch would be nice.

Works great. Fantastic bargain.
I have an old Technic SL-Q200 turntable from the 1980's and a crate of old vinyl records that I am enjoying once more thanks to this little preamp. It took less than two minutes to set it up. Plug in the power port. Then connect the turntable to the input line of the preamp and the output line of the preamp to your amplifier's¹ (or receiver's) AUX input port via two sets of RCA cables. Power on your pream, amplifier/receiver, and turntable. That's all you need. I lost the ground wire to my turntable who-knows-when; but, I get zero hum or buzz. I tested both left and right speaker and they sound perfectly balanced. Before the preamp, I turned the amplifiers volume to 10 and barely heard albums played on the turntable. With the preamp, I only need to turn the volume to 2 to fill my living room with easy listening level of music. I can still crank up the volume with no distortion fro the preamp. I know there's a bunch of negative reviews for this Pyle Preamp, but luckily, I've seen none of those complaints in my preamp. Maybe they received defective units. Granted, I'm no audiophile, but I do enjoy good music. This Pyle Preamp allows me to enjoy my vinyl record collection once more. ¹Update: I just realized that you can plug the preamp output port directly to powered speakers thus bypassing the amplifier. So instead of connecting to bookshelf speakers via an amplifier, I connect directly to a speakerbar. My Samsung speaker bar has an analog RCA input port. How convenient for de cluttering the entertainment area of 3 pieces of equipment. Now I can get rid of the amplifier and bookshelf speakers!

Buzzing
It works, but can introduce some buzzing versus other higher end preamps. Nice and compact and a good value for the money.

Sweet Deal!
Less than twenty dollars, sounds great, shipped fast and worth every penny. I really thought of going with something more expensive. Please note, I had nothing to compare it to. So I ran it straight into the receivers vs through this box straight into my computer, then back to those same receivers. Untouched sounded slightly better straight into either of my JVC 517v receiver. But here's the catch, slight adjustments to the computer and all bets are off. The computer can add reverb, EQ, Noise Reduction, range expansion, widen or narrow the separation and even slow or speed up without distortion or the pitch going nuts. Meanwhile, any of this done on the receiver, via the receiver does more harm in too many cases. I played Rap, rock, Classical, old school motown, soul, and even compared CD's some of the same stuff I have records, Amazing! I can't see myself buying something more expensive without an A vs B comparo! Here's what I'm using. I have a DIYer computer with an old Creative Labs Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Music that rated at about 101db, makes me miss the Auzen Prelude card that died. I'm using the line-level input and it is important that you not use it as MIC. As a source (Mobo sound card switched from MIC to Line-Level input) I never use motherboard sound. Phono's Red and White RCA connectors to the Preamp box's Input. Output the computer using something like ""AmazonBasics 3.5mm to 2-Male RCA Adapter Cable - 4 Feet"or the Monoprice equivalent. There has to be better more expensive solutions/options out there but this thing rocked. I have a Technics SL-Q300 Turntable (Record player LOL) and had thought my needle/stylus was worn out! Even ordered a cheap needle to check this, but the old needle under magnification showed it had gunk on it. A little WD-40 and alcohol plus q-tip and all is good again. $47 needle/Stylus sounds like $47 and the $19 sounds like, well, $19 LOL! But that's not really fair. I'll keep new needle for a back up though. I would buy this Preamp again if needed and will tell friends about it. If this is confusing, please ask questions. I use two receivers for sound from my computer, Ole school JVC for left and right sounds for music and a newer Harman Kardon AVR 246 for discrete analog 5.1 sound for games and etc...........

UPDATED REVIEW: BUZZ, fixed, RIGHT CHANNEL STOPPED, fixed, LEFT CHANNEL STOPPED, threw in the garbage
UPDATE (3/29/17) Okay, the right channel cut out, then after I wasted a whole bunch of time to finally get that working, the left channel cut off. CLEARLY, the soldering on this model is awful. I went from 1 star, yesterday switched it to 2 stars, now back to 1 star. A total cheap piece of crap. UPDATE (3/28/17): I bought this about 1.5 years ago and unsuccessfully tried to get it to work based on tips here. At the time, I wrote a 1-star review and gave up. Then, about 3 weeks ago, I decided to give it another go. Thankfully, I found out how to get rid of my hum. What I did was remove the casing and slowly loosen the screw attaching the circuit board to the housing. As I turned the screw, the hum went away. At first, it worked fine; however, after a couple of LPs, the right-channel started cutting out again. Tonight, I started it back up and the channel was working. I played 4 sides with no problems. I don't know how far I'll get before the channel cuts out again, but if/when it does, I will test tension in the screws housing the right-channel connectors to the housing unit. After getting some useful help from my electronics-skilled brother, we believe it's related to the connections to the housing, not the ground wires. I'll update as needed. ORIGINAL REVIEW (1 star): I admit I jumped the gun and gave this 5 stars after a few weeks of use; however, my joy from this device has deteriorated to one star. It works sometimes, was cheap, but is too problematic to be really enjoyable. I'm really not sure why I rated it 5 stars in the first place, since the complaint about the ground screw buzz is very real. There are workarounds for that; however, I keep losing the right channel. I'm not sure if it's too late to return this garbage but, as this is my second Pyle, and both had this problem with the channel dropping out, I'm officially done with Pyle.
